Advice with onboarding and visa issues

Joining a new company, onboarding involves going to the states. I’m not eligible under US waiver and need a visa with the appointment about 6 weeks away from the start date.

  1. Would you tell the employer once you get the offer letter and explain the situation
  2. Get in the company then raise it once you official start
  3. Other

Most of the onboarding is remote apparently so it shouldn’t be a deal breaker but it may have the employer raise questions…

Also the chance of getting an earlier appointment but not guaranteed

B1/b2 visa

My current B1/B2 visa expired in 2024 and it was for a work trip that I never ended up going on.

I am looking to renew and I am completing my online form. I’m currently employed, looking to go to the states with the wife and 2 year old son (not sure when but let’s assume July) but if I get this new job, I’ll be required to go to the states for onboarding - I live and work in the UK.

What should I put for the travel arrangements session? To me it makes sense to put down the potential vacation in July as this will probably be the intended purpose and then future trips over the next 5 years with New York, Disney World etc.

Interviewing for a NN Mid Market role at Salesforce and I have a panel coming up.

  1. Has anyone been successful in the panel and can share anything?

  2. Speaking about a recent win - pretty much all my wins with 5/6 figure ARRs haven't required a business case by the business, required us to provide metrics on ROI or support a business case. Any suggestions on what to add or speak about?

Anything else you think could help would be appreciated.
