There's this old card games mtg style I used to play long ago. I rememberd cards could be fused up to 3rd level, their look would always change, and the icon of the game was one particular creature that was like fire and metal.

You'd put your monsters on a board and fight 1v1 against players or AI. It had a campaign I think.
