What time did he finish? I left around 9:30am when he was playing soulful house and the energy was tapering. Interesting set. Very distinct from his other stereo sets. I think if I had to summarize it in one word, it would be: variety. Curious what you all thought!
So I am teaching a friend how to DJ. He only plays techno. I only really know house. I was trying to explain to him the importance of phrase mixing. But what I noticed is that techno is surprisingly forgiving when you don’t. He would mix in the middle of a phrase and it didn’t sound like a train wreck. So I’m struggling to drill into him the importance of it. I can’t find any videos on phrase mixing specifically for techno… Can anyone give me some proof points for phrase mixing that would specifically apply to techno?
