Am I using the redken volume injection shampoo wrong or is it just overhyped? 😭

Hey everyone, need some troubleshooting help.

I have super flat, fine hair that gets oily within about 24 hours. After reading heaps of rave reviews on here, I finally splurged on the Redken Volume Injection shampoo (the pink bottle).

I’ve been using it for about three weeks now and honestly... my hair feels heavier than usual? It looks alright right after a blow-dry, but by the next morning, it’s completely plastered to my head and feels like there's a layer of product buildup on it.

I double shampoo, rinse really thoroughly, and only put conditioner on my mid-lengths down, so I don't think it's user error.

Has anyone else had this issue with Redken? Is it possible it’s just too heavy for actual fine hair? Tempted to just bin it and go back to my cheap baccarat shampoo from the supermarket at this rate haha.

Is consciousness something we have, or something the brain is doing?

Why does it feel like there’s a “me” inside experiencing everything instead of just thoughts happening in the brain?

Genuinely curious how others think about consciousness.

What’s a haircare rule everyone repeats that you completely ignore but your hair still looks healthier because of it?

I swear I’ll go to bed thinking “finally figured out my routine” and wake up looking electrocuted 💀

I was chatting with a mate about how much more regulated things feel lately from council rules about what you can do in your own front yard to how every little community event needs a mountain of paperwork. I know we’ve always secretly loved a good rule, but do you reckon we're losing that laid-back larrikin streak, or are we just becoming more like the UK or Europe?

I went out for a casual feed yesterday and realized I didn't actually speak to a single human being until I was leaving. From the menu to the payment, everything was handled by a sticky QR code on the table that felt like a total "dog’s breakfast" to navigate .I’m all for tech, but is it just me, or are we losing the "local" feel of our pubs and cafes? It feels like we're paying more for the privilege of doing the waiter's job for them.

Am I just becoming a grumpy old bloke ahead of schedule, or do you lot actually miss having a proper yarn with the staff?

Maybe it's just me, but I was looking at my bank app this morning and had a proper "sanity check" moment. I remember thinking that hitting a six-figure salary was the ultimate "I’ve made it" milestone.

Fast forward to 2026: I’m earning more than I ever have, yet after the mortgage, the "rego" bill, and a grocery shop that cost more than a weekend at the snow, I’m basically back to living like a uni student.

It feels like we’re in this weird spot where you’re "successful" on paper, but you're still one "unexpected car noise" away from a total disaster. Are we all just collectively pretending this is sustainable, or has the goalpost moved so far back it's in another time zone?

Serious question—what’s the actual "good salary" baseline now to live a life that doesn't feel like a constant grind?
