I sent away the ABS control module to someone who said it was not repairable. Now when I try to get a replacement, they have the picture of the sticker on it but say they need a part number beginning with 61.35xx (where x is not known).
I do not have this number and I cannot find it does anyone know where it is?
I've installed the BMW INPA/ISTA software from the download and connected the cable. It says it's on COM port 3.
So, does that mean I modify the relevant .ini file to port 3 and its done? The Rheingold instructions say port 9. I only just read some threads with people mentioning connection problems.
I have the ASC/ABS warning and changing the wheel sensor doesn't help. So, it looks liket the old ABS module drama.
But I'm getting an intermittent warning with the gearbox being in FAILSAFE mode. The cars drives normally with the ABS and ASC lights on but the gearbox issue is random. It's happened three times now.
Are they likely to be related?
WTF is this shit? What goods and services for something that is 20 years old and bought on Ebay? It's a fucking old watch for christ's sake. This cannot be right.
