Has anyone ever been able to live with an aunt/uncle/cousin their first year or is the housing requirement too stringent?
Have a friend who wants to live with a non parent adult family member and commute to save money. The non parent family member lives within the 12 mile requirement. The parents live in another state so there's no practical way for them to live with the parents and commute.
The wording of the policy states the student can only live with a parent or legal guardian which is insanely restrictive. Other colleges with similar policies include aunts/uncles/cousins as suitable replacement for the commuter.
They already received a denial letter on the topic. Is he cooked or is there a way to escalate to try and get an exemption?
