Twin Cities, MN Local 322

Hey everyone!

Curious how the work is up in MN? I’m in interior systems, framing. Is the work pretty steady year round more or less? The union looks legit compared to the southern state I am in. I’ve Wanting to move up there for a while. Thoughts? Thanks!

Can’t stop buying it

I’ve been smoking for about 6 years now, daily. Tries to quit or told myself I was going to quit so many times. I go to bed with the plan of quitting then end up buying more when I’m suddenly thinking differently about everything, or my reasons will seem smaller to me. All lies fed by the addiction but I can’t seem to get past it. I’m 36, never smoked before age 30. How did you guys stop yourself from going to the dispensary? Anxiety, anger, irritability, stomach in knots, unable to focus when I do manage to stop for even just half a day. I only smoke joints if that means anything.

Thanks.

Edit: I have extreme GAD and panic disorder, I take a couple daily meds for, which started my descent into cannabis use in the first place when I couldn’t handle it anymore

Any Dads out there struggling with substance abuse?

I tried cannabis for the first time at 29. I’m 35 now and have been stuck in a rut where I am smoking all day basically. I had a work from home job that didn’t take much time, paid well and allowed me to fall into this. I still am highly functioning, have solid finances, am present with my wife and kids, etc. I only know that this isn’t me, and without it, I am irritable and feel like I just can’t sustain myself without it.

I got laid off and am starting a new job Monday. I don’t want to keep this pattern and I know I cannot use due to my new job and security requirements. Has anyone dealt with this or dealing with substance dependence?
