What part of Marathon’s design do you think people fundamentally misunderstand currently?

Not necessarily something Bungie explained poorly (which is a lot let’s be honest) but rather something you think the community is interpreting in a way that misses the point of the system entirely.

My take is extraction itself. I think some people treat extracting like the boring part after the ‘real game’ is over, when deciding when to leave is basically the core tension the entire game is built around.

What’s a Marathon take you’ll defend no matter what?

Mine is Cryo Archive is a masterpiece in map design and one of the all time great multiplayer maps conceived in video games.
