Looking for beta testers for AI-based interactive fiction website

Hello everyone! We've created storyfork.com to let people explore alternate paths, roleplay as a character, or just throw some chaos into their favorite books.

  • What if Juliet had awoken a few seconds earlier in Romeo and Juliet?
  • What if the Trojans had just burned the horse in The Aeneid?
  • What if Elizabeth had refused to read the letter in Pride and Prejudice?
  • What if a confused Dracula dropped into the tea party in Alice in Wonderland?

We've ingested dozens of classic books and constructed character bios, location descriptions, and story beats to hopefully create a fairly authentic alternate fiction. You can also upload your own ebook files and we'll process and create stories based on that as well. While our initial target was readers interested in interactive fiction, it might also be an interesting way to explore ideas for your own written stories.

We're currently running a small beta with free credits (you'll just need to log in with a google account) and we'd love to hear feedback: does it make sense what to do, was the writing quality good, were the characters believable, etc.

Thanks so much, we look forward to hearing your thoughts!

bball.io - simple, massively-multiplayer basketball shooting competition

Game link: bball.io

Info: free with optional account creation

This is a remake and expansion of a simple early-2000s browser game that I really enjoyed when I was younger. I honestly don't know who made the original or I would credit them (anyone know? At one point a video of it existed on youtube but I can't even find that now). Currently in a late alpha state, so there's still work to do. Should work well for both desktop and mobile.

It's a multiplayer game in which you and everyone else gets the same series of shots to attempt. Increase your score by getting combos and swishes. Until there are enough players it'll fill with bots so you can see what it will be like, but it can support 100-player matches.

A Variety mode randomizes conditions like ball size, rim bounciness, wind, etc. to throw some chaos in the mix.

There is also an offline Challenge mode that is sort of a series of puzzles. I'm still working on fleshing that out more, so that part is very much a work in progress.

There's an optional registration to track your stats and unlock cosmetic adjustments to your avatar and display name, but all of the gameplay can be enjoyed as a guest.

I would love to get feedback, and thanks for playing my game!

AI Disclosure: this game is human-designed, AI-coded. I'm a game designer by trade and I talk to AI the same way I talk to an engineering team.

Is it west "End Blvd" or "West End Blvd"? Actually, neither!!

Update: as a few commenters have noted, this appears to be a quirk of this map rather than the actual name. This is confirmed with this 1891 map that has it fully labeled as West End Blvd. Sigh...

======= Original Post =======

Was filling out my yard waste bin renewal and I had to decide whether to prefix with a cardinal direction or just list the street name as "West End" and then BLVD separately. Got into a discussion with someone else at Chad's Chai where I was working, and we generally agreed the name of the street is "West End" BLVD. However, I checked out a historical map from 1907 (https://lib.digitalnc.org/record/239073?ln=en&v=uv#?c=&m=&s=0&cv=3&r=0&xywh=202%2C3451%2C1392%2C943) and it turns out the name of the street is... "Boulevard"! Just...Boulevard (maybe Boulevard St.?!).

If you browse around some more you'll also find a bunch of half streets. Turns out 4½ is not a recent thing, and it's actually weird that it survived - there were a bunch more half streets in the past!
