Cayton Center mess

Ive visited the cayton center like 2-3 times now and the things i’ve seen in there… I am utterly shocked that no one mentions it here and lots of students don’t know about what goes on there.

I saw an emo couple f**king on the couches near the AS office underneath a blanket and no one there cared. A girl got whooped by another girl at 9:30AM last week because they were fighting over a guy. And then you got the ping pong crew who take it extremely competitively that the air around the ping pong table always smells like sweat. Ive seen special-needs people making out while two elderly seniors who study at smc were vaping next to them. That entire place does not feel real and NO ONE talks about it!

How much loans is normal

Hey! I know this is subjective but I was wondering how much loans is “normal” for a typical uci student per year. The good thing is I am a transfer so I’ll only have to worry about this for two years before I graduate. I got around half the total cost (≈46k) covered by grants, but that leaves another ≈23k that I have to either loan or pay myself (since im gonna be housing there). I am willing to pay like 5k myself, and I’m sure my dad will be willing to pay a portion, but I definitely don’t want him to pay too much (maybe like 5-10k). At the same time, I really dont want to be stuck with so much debt when I graduate. So does anyone know if 30k-ish in debt after graduation is normal or too much? Also for context I am majoring in business economics and want to be a business consultant or analyst. I know that the job market is hard, so I’m really stressed about whether or not this is a smart move.
