All the happy ex-smokers here, please tell me how good life is on the other side ❤️
I’ve designed a little ritual for myself for whenever the urge to smoke hits, and one part of it is reading quit stories from people who are genuinely happy they quit.
I’ve noticed that a lot of posts here are from ex-smokers who are doing well but still talk about cravings, how hard it can be, or how they still miss smoking sometimes. And I completely understand that everyone’s experience is different. ❤️
But I know myself, and right now, reading those stories can actually make me think, “See? I’ll always want a cigarette anyway” and that’s exactly the kind of thought that could make me cave.
So, if you’re a happy, grateful, genuinely loving-life-as-a-nonsmoker ex-smoker, please tell me about it. Tell me what got better. Tell me what you love about not smoking. Tell me how free you feel, what you don’t miss anymore, and all the little things that make you think, “Thank God I quit.”
I want to come back to this post whenever a craving hits and remind myself that there is a beautiful life on the other side of this.
Please, please, please share your happy stories. It would genuinely help me more than you know. ❤️
