Any Sri Lankans here who built a SaaS and sold it globally?

I’m building a SaaS targeting customers outside Sri Lanka and I’m curious how others here handled sales.

Have any of you:

  • Built a SaaS for global customers?
  • Done cold email/outreach to US, UK, Europe?
  • Had sales calls or meetings with overseas customers?
  • Actually managed to get paying customers?

Would love to hear what worked, what didn’t, and what the experience was like as a Sri Lankan founder.

Built an AEO SaaS, would love brutally honest feedback please

Hey everyone,

I’ve been building Cyted, a SaaS that helps businesses track how often their brand appears in answers from AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Copilot.

It’s more than just tracking mentions. Cyted can scan a company’s entire website, identify SEO and AI visibility issues, explain what may be wrong, and suggest ways to fix them. It also helps create blog posts based on those recommendations. The homepage is still in production, so I’d really appreciate some honest feedback.

I’d really appreciate feedback on:

  • Is it obvious what Cyted does when you first open the homepage?
  • Do the features seem genuinely useful or mostly “nice to have”?
  • Does this feel like something businesses or SEO agencies would pay for?
  • Does the pricing make sense?
  • What would stop you from signing up?
  • Is there anything about the homepage that makes the product feel untrustworthy or unfinished?

I’m not really looking for “looks good” feedback. If something feels confusing, generic, overpriced, unnecessary, or just bad, tell me.

Homepage: Homepage

I’ll read and reply to everything.

Does creating websites for businesses still works?

I’m a CS undergrad trying to pick up some freelance work and maybe start a side agency building websites for businesses.

But honestly, looking around my area, it feels like everyone already has a site, or they just rely on an Instagram page. Plus, with Wix and Squarespace everywhere, I’m wondering if the need for custom dev work for small businesses is just totally gone.

I want to know if anyone is actually making money doing this right now. Is it still worth getting into, or is the market just completely oversaturated? If you are doing this, are you selling basic websites, or are you pitching stuff like integrations and automation?

I would love some brutal honesty on how you even find clients who care about having a good site. Thanks.
