The Amazon rainforest after these election results

Bolsonaro is extremely likely to win after all of the second round polls have just released. I read that all of the voters of the 3 candidates who got over 2% will all vote for Bolsonaro. This is horrifying. Bolsonaro will greenlight Amazon deforestation so bad that it will affect the entire world's atmosphere. We all rely on the Amazon rainforest for oxygen. Without it, we don't breathe. How could Brazil vote against its own supplier of oxygen? Vote against nature??

The future of the Amazon rainforest after this election

I read that all of the voters of the 3 other candidates who got over 2% will go to Bolsonaro. Bolsonaro winning means that the Amazon rainforest will suffer MASSIVE deforestation. The entire world relies on it for oxygen. How could Brazil vote against saving its own supplier of oxygen??? Vote against nature?? This is terrifying.

Feeling awful about mistakes I make at work

I work as a recruitment coordinator at a research company. I've been at my position for 4 months. I'm still making careless mistakes. When it came to recruitment for a certain project, the 9 people who were selected for invitations for a certain focus group ALL responded to the invitation emails I sent them. Completely unexpected. We can only have six for one group. Even though I know I couldn't have known all 9 people would have responded, I still feel bad for the 3 people who were looking forward to getting paid for the study. All 3 people who didn't get the sign up links emailed us back and asked why that was. I, as the person in charge of sending those emails, dwelled that this exact scenario would happen. It did. I eventually have to email these 3 people and apologize for the overbooking scenario and tell them about future focus groups we're doing for this project. I hate doing this. These 3 people were looking forward to THAT session. (Btw, this is happening with the MULTIPLE focus groups that we have for this project. I had to contact like 9-10 selected interested participants for each specific group. We always do this with every project. Call every selected interested participant in case of a low response rate. The selected interested participants for each focus group for this specific project almost ALL responded. Again, I had NO idea this would happen. So every time, I had to email 3 people saying we were overbooked and that they can participate in future sessions) However, it's not just this.

I sometimes send emails to the wrong people and I write emails in the wrong formats. As a result of me sometimes not recruiting participants fast enough for projects that have LOW response rates, the company has to delay focus groups for that project. Just the other day, they had to reschedule a focus group an hour and a half before it was supposed to start due to my inability to recruit enough people for that specific focus group. I wish my work ethic was much better than it was. I need to be better than this.

the right wing winning in colombia and peru. possibly in brazil as well.

The right-wing winning in colombia, peru, and very likely brazil in october means the further destruction of the amazon rainforest. it's considered to be the earth's lungs. these exact three countries hold most of the amazon. if the amazon rainforest gets wiped out, we don't breathe. i don't want to give into doom and gloom but we as a society need to do more to stop the destruction of our forests and landscapes. a way to start is to use ecosia instead of google! it plants a tree with every search you make. you can also go to avaaz.com and fight for the indigenous community in the amazon rainforest by signing petitions that support their rights. this will be much harder under right-wing governments but we can't give up. we only have one earth. we can't destroy it for profit.
