x300ultra EU - desktop mode not working

I bought an X300 Ultra Global version in Europe (a €2000 phone) switching from an S23 Ultra to get a better chip, a better camera system, and more memory for my travels.

To my great surprise, after at least 5 hours of trying, I found out that on the Global version the “desktop mode” feature does not work, even though it apparently works for another user here.

I tried everything: different launchers, developer settings, and in the end it either mirrors the phone screen when desktop mode is not enabled, or it still always asks for mirroring anyway.

I’ve had a completely white screen, a more or less correct-looking screen with different launchers, but the mouse always stays on the phone screen, which means it is still mirroring.

We are already more than 6 months after the launch of Android Desktop Mode. I have one of the most expensive flagship phones in my hands; Samsung and others are already far ahead. I’m really wondering when Vivo will fix these things and allow us to unlock the full potential of this phone.

If anyone has managed to get it working, I would kindly ask you to let me know :)

At work, I’m experimenting with Claude Code Pro to automate daily processes with Python for people, and I’m also creating small web dashboards to keep my colleagues updated on various aspects. However, I’ve noticed that I often hit the hourly limit and always have to wait, so I’m looking for alternatives.

At home, I experimented with llama.cpp using various models on my 9070 XT, with “terrible” results. I then switched to NVIDIA’s free APIs, with equally “terrible” results.

By “terrible,” I mean that in one hour of prompting, I can’t produce the same result that I get in 20 minutes with Claude Code, using the same prompts.

My main activities are creating Python code to automate data imports from the web, FTP, or available APIs; managing data with databases; producing reports in .xlsx or .csv; and now I’m starting to do some web design as well. I’ve also recently started an LLM wiki project for a few things. In particular, I want to produce automated market reports using all the data sources I have.

Based on your experience, which paid model should I buy that is equivalent to Sonnet 4.6, but costs less and can be integrated with Claude Code or OpenCode?

From what I’ve seen online, DeepSeek v4 Pro seems to be the best alternative, but I’ve read many conflicting comments.

Thanks.
