So my baby shower was over the weekend. My father passed away and my mother and I are no contact. My brother and I are close and him and his partner were in attendance — basically they’re the only close family that I have. My fiancé and I decided to use my brother’s name as our baby’s middle name. It was also my late father’s middle name. We planned on telling him after the baby was born, and it was very well known that the name was a secret. After the baby shower was over my MIL told my fiancé that she told my brother the middle name. My fiancé flipped out on her and she gave a half ass apology following up with an “oh well.” I called my brother and asked him about it and he told me that she told him as he was leaving… like it was an afterthought. I’m so upset because I haven’t had a lot of special family moments and she took that away and doesn’t really give a shit. She hasn’t reached out to me to try to apologize. I truly don’t know how I’m supposed to trust her moving forward. I feel so disrespected.

I’m so frustrated and exhausted. My MIL invited all of her friends — I don’t know them and she’s not paying for it. She offered to help plan but hasn’t really done anything, my fiancé’s step mom offered to help but bailed on our planning lunch last minute. My fiancé said he’d help with planning and everything but it sort of defeats the purpose — these people said they’d be there for me and I feel so alone in this. I can’t tell if I’m just being hormonal or rational here.

I have very short, straight lashes. I was getting extensions for the last three years but my tech is moving and I want to give myself a little break /: thank you!!
