I have this empty space above my mantle — I’m guessing it was built in 90s for those bigger TVs that required the space to go back. I am renting so I can’t full-on renovate this, but I can work with drywall, drill stuff in, etc. I certainly cannot remove the “frame”.

I think there is definitely some clever ideas on how to do this - I just don’t have any at the moment.
