I’m considering trying to carve its eyes and blowhole. That would be very delicate work and another new experience too.

I collected some obsidian from a hill near my house and used my tile saw to start the basic shape before continuing on with a hand rotary /w diamond bits. It’s only polished up to 1000 # and I may leave it like that. It’s a Risso’s dolphin and I’ve included a wildlife shot at the end to see what I was going for.

My kid surfaced/saved this from our toy box today. It’s cool to see the older ones still getting play time.
