Confirmed info from Bandai Namco about Tarnished Pack: it's 5 dollars.

Haven't seen anyone post this, though I may be mistaken!

https://en.bandainamcoent.eu/elden-ring/news/how-get-new-elden-ring-classes-weapons-and-torrent-skin-customizations

Basically, it'll be 5 dollars, it'll be available from ps store, xbox's storefront, steam, or the bandai namco store.

It will contain 4 armor sets, 3 torrent skins and 2 classes.

Seems like 2 of the new armor sets are worn by the new classes, and 1 armor set is the lucatiel-like set. The 3 confirmed armor sets all include at least 1 new weapon each, so good chance there's still a weapon included with the last armor set too.

So, is cooking seitan in bubbling water bad, or what?

I've been doing some tests with seitan, and my last test was comparing a long low simmer, with a cooking time that included a short bubbling boil.

What I ended up noticing, is that in opposition to the advice I've seen over and over, the hot boiled version ended up being very signficantly tastier, even without salt or other flavourings. The texture was more pleasant visually and in the mouth, with a more loose, organic unevenness ans little gaps of air. On top of that, the water from the boil and the oil from frying it up went into the gaps of the seitan, giving it a juicy feeling in the mouth.

So like... am I misunderstanding something, or do I just have a peculiar taste in seitan texture? I'll keep experimenting *with* a hot boil included at some point in the process.

Buzzing at bridge/saddle when plucking low strings

Hello, I am having issues with a buzzing noise that gets produced when plucking the lowest strings. Would there be any advice or tips based on these images and audio? This problem started when I put on new strings, since the old ones were extremely old.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated!

If you're also waiting for Duskbloods, play Metroid in the meantime!

This post isn't about Duskbloods, but I've massively enjoyed these three switch exclusives during my wait for the game, and I am sure lots of people waiting for Duskbloods would also like these games. The darker aesthetic combined with slower exploration and combat, will definitely appeal to some of you. If you've got your hands on a Switch 2, you ought to really consider these three games!

Metroid Prime remastered is essentially the same as the classic from Gamecube, but with a new coat of paint it looks absolutely gorgeous. A masterclass in converting metroidvania level structure into a 3D fps. Excellent game, and the world structure will definitely be appealing to DS1 fans.

Metroid Dread has much more action packed gameplay, but also features an excellent metroidvania level structure and is surprisingly cinematic with a gorgeous 2.5D style, and cutscenes. Incredibly smooth to control, and really fun to slowly uncover the map. There's also some stealth sections to break up the pace a little.

Metroid Prime 4 doesn't go for the same metroidvania level structure as the others, and the game ends up really reminding me of Half Life 2 with its well-executed combo of fps combat, level exploration, story and light puzzle elements. It's also a *gorgeous* game that easily matches some of ER's best moments when it comes to vista's and architecture.

Three excellent games, I'll happily vouch for them.

Here's a little collection of tracks from these games:

TBSkyen on Katt's redesign

Gotta say, I really agree with him. Sure, the new design doesn't work as well as a cutesy "mascot" type character, but it works a lot better as a character in a dramatic sci-fi setting.

A character design like that makes me ask questions about why she looks the way she does, and I do think that works well for the character and makes her stand out.

VWG method: how to make seitan that has the bendy, flexible texture of meat?

I've made over 10 seitan experiments now, with plenty producing perfectly edible results. However, what I've noticed is that the flexible, bendy texture found in real meat is really lacking! My seitan's either gummy and "stiff", or wet and spongy in some cases.

Is there a way to give seitan a more flexy, bendy texture that's a bit more similar to meat?

Are there flatwound strings for acoustic, western style guitar?

I'd like to experiment with different sounding strings, and flatwounds sound like an interesting alternative to roundwound. Yet... do they actually exist as sets made for acoustic western style guitar?
