Portion of 401k Match in Company Stock

My company has a profit share of 6% that goes into our 401k’s, and 2% of that is in the company stock. What is the recommendation to do with company stock in a 401k? Sell right away and place into index funds, or just take care of it with annual rebalancing?

Got him

After using blisy’s guess and check method for a few SID’s, I decided to do a speed run to Celadon last night and used ACE to find my SID. Hit the correct frames this morning and got this guy.

ESPP with 1 year mandatory holding period

I’m currently maxing out my 401k, HSA, and Roth IRA. I’m looking to potentially utilize my employers ESPP that offers a 15% discount, however there is a mandatory 1 year hold period after purchase.

I don’t like the idea of having such concentrated risk in a single stock with the mandatory 12 month hold. My employer already contributes a small portion of our 401k match in company stock as well.

Would this plan be worth utilizing, or exploring other investments such as opening a taxable brokerage account?
