Heyo! Been out of the RNG scene with these games for a bit since around launch, and not as familiar with FRLG RNG compared to other Gen 3 manips.

Is it possible to get a "perfect" Starter at the beginning of the game? Or are your only viable options coming back later with ACE or waiting a ludicrous amount of time per attempt?

I rolled an Adamant M Charmander at the beginning of my game and tried to use AI to determine my SID. Found my assumed PID and double checked all my info and then tried to confirm across another AI agent to verify info. Felt pretty confident I found the SID but when I tried to shiny hunt Eevee using my SID, it came back normal. I moved the SID one digit over, same thing happened again. But then from what I gathered online it sounds like if the true SID is across a range of 7-8 values you will still land on a shiny? Idk. It’s all incredibly confusing from a first timer. Would love to get some advice on how to utilize different tools to accurately capture my information.

For context:

I captured my Charmander’s stats all the way up to level 7. It is now a Charizard at level 56 and has been boosted with vitamins.

I'm trying to rng manipulate for a shiny poipole and type null. I see that for poipole, people just use 3dsrngtool and the time calculator section, use the starting frame that they'd get when they launch the game which gets automatically adjusted when finding the initial seed, and use the time it gives for eon timer. But when I see people talk about doing type null, it seems that they recommend only using the QR code method of finding your current/starting frame and doing it that way. Am I understanding correctly that the reason for using QR code in this scenario over just using the regular time calculator in 3dsrngtool, is because the npcs in the area that you get type null can move? Which changes the current frame an unpredictable amount? And the place where you get poipole, they don't move?

I have a Nintendo 3DS and am trying to get a shiny Volcarana in the Relic Castle but no matter what I do on rngreporter or pokefinder I can never get the right information to actually load in properly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I have wasted so much time trying to do this

I tried searching everywhere but most videos were the encounter and not the set up.

I was looking to shiny hunt a shadow shiny scizor from the Japanese e-reader room, but then I started thinking about RNG manipulating. Somewhere in my research I saw that your TID and SID might not even be possible to have a shiny shadow for certain Pokemon, meaning you could spend all that time soft resetting for a mon that will never be shiny. Just needed to ask the community as I could not find an answer anywhere. Can you get a shiny scizor regardless of IDs?

I'm currently trying to practice my Eontimer timings on the free Hitmonchan and Lapras in Leaf Green. I just went through a massively soul crushing sequence

Attempt 1: Hit the seed bang on, missed the continue frame by 1, kept calibration

Attempt 2: was slightly off both ways, kept calibration

Attempt 3: Hit the seed bang on again, missed the continue frame by 3, decided to calibrate

Attempt 4: Hit the seed bang on, but this time missed the continue screen frame by 3 the other way meaning if I did nothing I'd have nailed it.

How do you get motivated to move on and continue after a sequence like that? Been failing to get the seeds correct as a result now too.

Hello guys, I was learning from u/imblisy on YouTube how to use RNG and Eon timer to try to get good stuff on Fire Red/Leaf Green. I already set up the ACE method and got my SID. I'm playing Leaf Green on Switch 2. I decided to try a shiny Mewtwo. Went to Ten Lines and chose this one:

After some tries and calibration on Eontimer, like in the video, I caught this one:

4AA2 | 30108ms (+0ms) 1796 596 61402C60 No Mild 0: Pressure 8/8/18/30/0/2 Fighting 47

So I got the right frame, but the wrong pokémon. Note that my Continue screen frames have a difference of 10 from the target, but I hit the right frame. What am I missing here? I want to understand how to proceed correctly. Thank you, guys! (I'm "familiar" with RNG, I did before many times and many pokémon games, but on Emerald and Gen4+ games on emulators, so I didn't need to use Eontimer).

Complete RNG noobie Please can someone trade me a 2 Chatots if possible, as i’m currently trying to RNG manipulate without a chatot as i don’t have access to one and it’s proving to be next to impossible to figure out.

Very new to RNG Manipulating, I have calibrated my DS/have the requisite chatot (2x) and sweet sense, and i’m on floor 2 of celestial tower.

I have my seed which i’ve pasted into the RNG Reporter, upon which the results generated show that the desired shiny frame is frame 54, however when i calibrate eon timer to the time on time finder result, I keep getting random litwicks which always have varying natures

I’m confused, surely if i’m hitting the same frame for example frame 47-49 i should be seeing consistent natures rather than varying ones?

Please can someone help me with this.

Maybe not the correct sub for this, but some months ago I was learning and doing RNG Manips for the IVs of the wormhole legendaries in Pokemon Ultra Sun in original hardware.

Are those even actually valuable anymore? Could I just drop that and catch them normally? Or would I or someone else appreciate those still?

I plan on RNG manipulating my legendaries but I am soft resetting using a macro on BD/SP to get me a full odds chimchar first… I know in FR/LG using a macro ends up making me run into essentially the same pokemon over and over because of lack of variation and isn’t hitting a big enough sample size to shiny hunt effectively. Is BD/SP the same way to where using a macro is shooting myself in the foot or is there variation built into each reset to where using a macro is effective?

Hi, so I am using a guide from imablissey and I have found my seeds for a flawless zapdos using tenlines, changed my settings as directed, and am now saved in front of zapdos. The estimated wait time is 1 minute. These are the sample instructions from his website:

1. Begin holding SELECT before booting the game.

2. Start EonTimer, Boot the game and continue to hold SELECT through the entire intro cutscene

3. Press and hold your Button: input at the 6th beep on the Title Screen, without releasing SELECT

4. Release your Button: input and the SELECT button once you see the File Load screen.

5. Load your game and redeem your Gift Pokemon on the final beep.

My question is about step 1 and 2. When it says "booting up the game", does that mean a hard reset or a soft reset? So must I hold select (or whatever my seed requires) while switching on the power? Do I start eontimer as I switch on the power? The rest of the steps are fine, it is just steps 1 and 2 that are unclear to me. Thanks for any help.
