I’ve been putting this off for a few months RNGing in Gen 6 and managed to get all of these over the course of about 3 days. It’s been about 8 months since I’ve done a Gen 4 RNG so I was very proud to have had a string of about 8 in a row successful first try. I forgot how much more rewarding and enjoyable Gen 4 RNG is compared to CFW RNG on a 3DS. Picture is of my 3DS but the manipulations were done on a DS fat.
Was done in Omega Ruby after catching Phantumps with the Dex Nav and breeding RNG with Pokereader and 3DS RNG Tool. The final female Phantump in a premier ball with harvest and bestow was bred with a 6IV ditto. On to do the same for Adaptability Skrelp!
About 8 months ago I did an Emerald RNG playthrough and some ACE. I was able to get all of the mons I was hunting for, but for whatever reason I could never figure out Feebas, spent probably 5-10 hours smashing my face against a wall before just giving it up. Well over the weekend I picked up a copy of Ruby and was planning an RNG playthrough. Evidently I didn’t do sufficient research and you can only RNG in R/S if it has a dead battery, and the one I purchased had a freshly installed battery. So back to Emerald I went to RNG a shiny team to send to Ruby.
After getting the other 5 mon for the team I decided fuck it, I’m trying for Feebas again. Very quickly realized what I was doing wrong in Pokefinder (find your Feebas tile in game, but don’t select “Feebas tile” in Pokefinder, just know that the shiny Carvanha frame will just eventually, randomly, be a shiny Feebas, and only use Carvanha to calibrate where you are in the RNG). Realizing my mistake, it ended up taking about 30minutes and about 6 attempts.
Wow, even with wildly reduced odds getting this on my 3rd egg was a huge and happy surprise. I personally prefer RNG manipulation for obtaining shiny pokemon as I simply can’t stand SRing, but unfortunately RNG manipulation in Gen 2 is very unstable (other than starters and Celebi). So when I heard about the mimic/Ditto glitch to force a shiny Ditto in Gen 1, I set that up and decided to buckle up for a slog of SRing with reduced odds to breed a shiny Eevee in Crystal. Well after only 3 eggs it was shiny. At still only a 1.5% chance I’m in disbelief it happened so quickly.

I have been working on customizing my 3DS homescreen with badges from the theme plaza. I have been grouping my games by titles (i.e Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, etc) using the title badges I’ve found. Many of them are 2-3 badges that next to each other complete the title (i.e badge 1 says Poke badge 2 says Mon). But there are 2 or 3 icons I simply can’t find: 1. A Harry Potter title badge 2. A badge that just says “Random” for games that don’t fit a group and 3. A Spyro title badge.
I have looked everywhere with no success so I decided I’d try and make my own, but I’m struggling to find a program to make them with. I have a PC, FileZilla and FTPD to get it to the 3DS. Does anyone either have a good programs to make them with? Or even better have those badges I could download?
Any help would be super appreciated!
Last night after about 9 hours of attempts spread over 2 days I finally managed to RNG Celebi on my 3DS using the zaksabeast guide/tool and Pokereader. This play through I started on the 3DS VC to manip the starters and then transferred the save to my physical crystal cart to play up to the E4 and then transferred back to the 3DS set the flag and to RNG Celebi and now finally back to the cart to finish the play through.
Bonus: a full odds shiny Magikarp I found… in a game that gives you a free shiny Gyarados lol.
Hi all, a few weeks ago I managed to RNG all 3 starter Pokemon on the 3DS Crystal VC using Pokereader and the Zaksabeast guide. It took me about 2 hours total even getting chikorita first try.
I’m now trying for Celebi and feel like I’m smashing my face against a wall. I’ve been at it for about 7 hours now with no luck (didn’t count attempts). I’ve watched the guide like 10 times and am about as confident as I can be I’m following it correctly. The guide explicitly states this is not stable and expect it to take a while, so I totally understand if this is just the nature of the beast, but does anyone have any advice on what worked for them? The guide mentions pressing A for 1.5 frames which I have no idea how to measure, but I’m pressing it just long enough to advance past the “player put in GS ball” and then no additional button presses. I also saw a comment about waiting for later advances, has anyone had experience with that helping?

Im just about done with a Gen 5 shiny living dex via RNG manipulation and finished up Thundurus the other day. I also have gone for all forms in this living dex and was very surprised to discover that I can’t find any guides on how to get the Therian forms/trigger the reveal glass in game event in 2026.
I have done all the RNGing on a DS phat, but also have a modded 3DS and even an Action Replay. At this point I’m not even worried about “ legitimacy” and just need to find anyway to trigger this. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Hi All, using the @zaksabeast3590 guide and tools from YouTube I managed to grab all 3 shiny starters yesterday and they even had pretty good DVs! (Which was 100% just luck). Definitely not as satisfying as a gen 3-5 manipulation but glad to have them for this playthrough and I plan to inject this save file with all 3 onto my physical Crystal.
My question: @zaksabeast3590 also has a video on getting shiny Celebi and it appears to be the exact same process as the starters just that the forest has more random movement in the RNG making it harder. Has anyone tried this with any of the other stationary encounters like suicune, lugia, ho-oh? And also the other gift pokemon and eggs? I don’t really see why this method wouldn’t work for those too. Looking for any advice!
Hi all, I’m relatively new to the 3DS modding community and am having an issue getting my injected Emerald save file into PKSM v 10.2.4.
I ripped my physical emerald save off with a Joey Jr and then made a cia file using NSUI and put it onto my 3DS and installed it with FBI. It works and may save loads every time without issue.
I checked the GitHub instructions and it says that at this point it should just be recognized in the VC games section but it’s not. So I went into settings (pressing Y) and added the title ID according to FBI and it says title not found.
I hate to admit it but I use ChatGPT (I know terrible source) for a lot of 3DS modding support when I hit a wall and I think it’s lead me astray, which is never a good idea. It told me to go into Emerald, save, and then enter God Mode 9. Next to dump the save into gm9/out and add the save that way. I did this and it seems to accept it and appears in the extra saves menu but doesn’t appear in the VC Games section still. Next it told me to go to absent games and load it that way. When I scrolled to Emerald it showed “E: out” and I selected it. It then froze in a “Backing up save… Please wait” screen and even after 5 minutes of waiting nothing loads and I have to force restart the console to escape it. But when I got back to PKSM it shows a back up made from that. If it try and load the backup or the E: out they both freeze the system.
At this point I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. Any ideas would be appreciated, I’m all but pulling my hair out.
Hi guys, I have been trying to RNG a shiny living dex for Gen 1-5 and am making a plan for Zekrom and Reshiram. I’m very aware they are shiny locked in this Gen, but I like the idea of RNGing them using what WOULD be a shiny frame for stationary encounters even though it’s locked. I am also aware that in B2/W2 these mons are a stationary encounter and would be much easier to RNG for there. My problem is even after over 500 successful RNGs across emerald, HG/SS, D/P/Pl, and B/W, I can not for the life of me get B2/W2 to work for me.
So my question is this: does anyone know the frame advances that would come from the cut scene before catching Zekrom/Reshiram? Like “stop 10 advances before goal”? I know this would be a highly difficult manipulation (no shiny indication, can’t even check nature until after saving and final credits, etc). I have a modded 3DS with checkpoint so I can run the manipulation on my DS check after all the cut scenes and credits and re-inject the save right before the encounter using the 3DS to try again.
Any help would be appreciated!
Pretty sure it’s fake but wanted to confirm as I don’t have a screwdriver to open the cart. There are no numbers indented on the sticker and the cart feels lighter than GBAs I know are real.
