Wyred Fiber == Google Fiber?

Wyred Fiber == Google Fiber?

Notice on my door. Not that I've had any special problems with Cox (now Spectrum) that others haven't had but would this mean I'm getting the option of service from Wyred or Google, since Google Fiber sold to someone else? I'm so confused.

Email advertisement from Subaru

The email shows a picture of a new Solterra. The text above it in big letters is, "Open Road - A Full Tank - Nothing Stopping You!"

I know they want to sell me a new one, but ... folks, a full tank of WHAT exactly? Electrons? 🤣

Length? Girth? Both?

I've been charging at home off of 110, because the house is a rental. Also, I can't park in the garage or near enough to an outlet to plug the charger in directly.

I've been using a fairly long, fairly heavy duty extension cord until now. I realized the socket was getting pretty warm while charging - not "burn my fingers" or "melting" hot, but warmer than I was comfortable with.

So I bought an extension cable with the heaviest gauge I could find and a length much much closer to the actual distance I need to reach my charging block so that the cable can reach the car. It's 12 gauge (I think the old one was 14? Guessing here) and now not only does the socket barely warm up at all, I feel like it's actually shaved a few minutes off of my charge time. Nothing significant mind you, and it could just be all in my head but I'm not going back to the old cord to test it.

Would it be the cord length, the gauge, the age of the previous cord? All of the above? Am I just imagining that my level 1 charging is every so slightly faster?

Thank you for reading this and for your thoughts!

I followed your advice (folks here who had it done) and when I went back in for a minor warranty service on one of my roof rack attachment point covers disappearing (probably in the car wash?) I showed my extremely nice service rep the issue. They asked a tech who said, "Oh, yeah, no, we can't turn that off" but being a good rep, out came the manager. I showed the manager, with my window down, and asked, "Why do I need this inside the car? I don't want to turn off the outside noise, that's safety for sure. But inside?" The manager listened with an extremely confused look on his face. He said, "Do you have your seatbelt on?" I put on my seatbelt, it continued. "Does your ..." "Yes, the seatbelt chime goes off when I'm not wearing my seatbelt." "Huh. We'll have the tech turn that off."

And voila, it is gone! After 14 years of having it in my Prius and a year and a half in my Solterra? It. Is. Gone! Hooray! Thank you to everyone who gave me advice on how to present it at the dealership. Reddit reddited the good way this time!
