I wish there were more makeup options in Episode
Sorry to whoever’s OC I yassified, I found it on Pinterest
I wish there were more makeup options, I feel like it’d make it more appealing and there’d be more diversity in the characters. I already think that the lipstick options are pretty limited and hard to work with, especially if you’re making a person of color.
I added more bronzer, highlights, contour, made the lipstick look like actual lipstick, eyeshadow & lashes.
I think that it’d add a lot more to the storytelling aspect as well, especially if the characters are going to a gathering etc. Some people also just enjoy making OCs
These fuckers have evolved and learned how to dingdong ditch us
Doordashers are some of the most entitled people I’ve ever interacted with
I’ll go ahead and say it: it’s one of the easiest jobs out there (fight me). You can clock in and out whenever you want, you can be selective about which orders you accept and you chose to do this job. All you have to do is accept the order, drive to the restaurant, pick up the food and deliver it. You’re not the one making the food, you’re not performing lifesaving surgery and there’s usually no heavy lifting involved unless you accept a large shopping order.
What I don’t understand is why some drivers get so defensive or angry because someone “only” tipped $5. There are even drivers who intentionally tamper with your order or try to pressure you into canceling so they still get paid. It’s not the customer’s responsibility to make up for DoorDash’s pay structure. If you’re unhappy with the wages, that’s an issue to take up with DoorDash, not the customer !!!
I also disagree with the argument that “takeout is a luxury.” What about people who are disabled, sick or otherwise have limited ways of getting food? Delivery isn’t always a luxury for them.
And if you message me asking for a bigger tip, which isn’t something you’re entitled to, I’m much more likely to remove the tip altogether. I tip before delivery and often add more afterward if the service is genuinely good. I’m just tired of feeling like I’m being held hostage every time I order food…
Being afraid of dogs isn’t an irrational fear
disclaimer: my opinion isn’t an attack on dogs as animals, many dogs are amazing companions and well trained. it’s about irresponsible ownership and the fact that even well behaved animals are still animals. even a dog called cupcake that supposedly doesn’t bite
dogs that are off-leash in public or are so strong that their owners struggle to control them can become dangerous very quickly. every year there are numerous cases of dogs attacking other dogs, livestock, wildlife and people. even if these incidents are uncommon, they happen often enough that people have good reason to be scared
many owners say, “don’t worry, she’s friendly,” but that doesn’t solve the problem. if a dog runs up to someone, jumps on them, barks in their face or playfully nips at them, the person being approached has no way of knowing the dog’s intentions. people shouldn’t have to trust a stranger’s judgment about their pet. people have every right to expect personal space in public without being touched or chased by someone else’s animal
fear becomes irrational only when it has no reasonable basis. dog bites are well documented. in the United States, around 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year and roughly 800,000 require medical treatment (statistics taken from wikipedia). dog bites can cause severe injuries, permanent scarring, psychological trauma and can transmit diseases such as rabies in regions where it is present. i’m not saying that every dog is dangerous, but these numbers show that the possibility of harm is real
not everyone likes dogs and not everyone feels safe around them. some people have allergies, past traumatic experiences or phobias. for that reason, businesses such as restaurants and shops should generally remain pet-free (with exceptions for legitimate service dogs that perform essential tasks for people with disabilities). public spaces should be welcoming to everyone, not just pet owners
dogs are living animals, not lifeless machines. they can react unexpectedly when frightened, startled, injured or overstimulated. some dogs are intentionally trained to guard homes or attack intruders. and while that may serve a security purpose, it also demonstrates that dogs are capable of causing serious harm under certain circumstances. if such a dog escapes or is mishandled, the consequences can be severe
i’m sick of being mocked and not taken seriously when i say i’m scared of dogs. obviously people can take them on walks and such, but please keep them leashed and don’t let them interact with people that don’t want it. i don’t want your dog jumping on me and sniffing me while you let it happen, just because “she’s friendly, she doesn’t bite, her bites don’t hurt she’s just playing around”
TL;DR: being afraid of dogs isn’t irrational because the risk is real. dog attacks and bites happen every year and irresponsible owners who don’t leash or control their dogs make that risk worse. not everyone is comfortable around dogs and people deserve to have their boundaries respected
June Bali trip - my thoughts, what to avoid, what to see
Hi everyone! I’m not sure if anyone reads this, but after 2 weeks in Bali I thought I’d share a piece of my mind and recommend/warn people about what I’ve learned (English isn’t my first language, apologies)
Where I regret going:
- Batur Natural Hot Spring - The changing rooms are intersex, which was personally uncomfortable for me (I’m a woman); it feels like a tourist spot, a bit crowded and the hot springs are basically just pools you’d find in a hotel with hot water. I would’ve preferred it to be more “natural like”. You get a complimentary drink which is water or watered down juice, also a lot of mosquitos and flies.
- Besakih Temple - This one was really disappointing. The whole area is filled with markets and shops, people begging you to buy their snacks all the way to the top to the Temple. The temple itself is going under construction right now, so bear that in mind as well. It doesn’t feel as sacred as other temples I’ve been to, where once it’s required to wear a sarong there are no longer markets and shops. At the beginning I was tying my sarong, a woman came up and tied it for me then shoved the natural offering in my hands (I thought she was just kind and trying to help) - she wanted 300k. I said absolutely not and gave her 50k which is still plenty, I didn’t want to cause a scene. I unfortunately wouldn’t go there again, even though once you get to the top it is beautiful.
- Tegenungan Waterfall - You pay to enter the area (which is understandable) and when you’re going to the actual waterfall you have to pay AGAIN - what??? It is very pretty, but that’s weird in my opinion. It’s not the best waterfall and there are better ones.
- Hidden Canyon - This is more of a warning for people that are shorter and not fit - the whole journey takes around 2 hours in water, you have to swim and climb - but if you’re short like me - certain areas are so deep the water will be on your shoulder level (I’m 160cm). If you don’t enjoy physical activities, this one isn’t for you. Beware of the free meal they provide as well, it unfortunately upset my stomach for the next few days (Fried rice with an ice tea, im guessing it was the ice).
Places I definitely recommend:
- Uluwatu Temple - It’s SO gorgeous and worth it. There are also a lot of monkeys, so if you’re an animal lover like me, you’ll enjoy it. They aren’t aggressive, but you do need to take off flashy earrings as they can rip it out (from what our guide said) - we saw a pregnant monkey mama and babies! EDIT: They weren’t aggressive and active when I went there at around 4 PM, but still be wary and listen to your guide/be cautious
- Tukad Cepung Waterfall - Beautiful cave waterfall! It’s ethereal and I don’t know what else to say about it, it’s a must see!
- Batur Sunrise - Whether it’s through hiking or jeep it’s up to you, but the sunrise is absolutely gorgeous and the area surrounding it too! Even when the sun still hadn’t came out, I was still amazed by the view. Definitely worth waking up at 2 am for.
- Ulun Danu Beratan Temple - Gorgeous views and gorgeous temple.
There were also other places I went to, but these 4 are definitely the ones that are a must see! Anyways, that is all. I love Bali, but I definitely don’t miss the traffic and narrow roads. If anyone wants to ask me anything, let me know!
EDIT: Looking back at the pictures, I also enjoyed: Banyumala Waterfall, Tegallalang Rice Terrace and Tibumana Waterfall! I also stayed in Ubud, if anyone has questions regarding it
I can feel the stomachache after this … (toast cheese BBQ brisket lasagna)
What a waste of brisket too
