You should just move on.
I’m gonna start by saying the person who said this really does care about me, she’s just a little clueless.
So, the other day I was talking to my childhood friend’s mom about an issue I have continued difficulty with. She was kinda surprised that it was still a problem, and I said (paraphrased) “well, someone tried to fix it when I was younger, but they messed up and made it worse.” And then she said “that was a long time ago, you can move on”. I told her I can’t and she reiterated her point. And then I was like, I mean it, I can’t. And then I thought, wait a second… she knows I have PTSD from another event a decade ago. Even if it’s not related to the topic at hand, why would you say that to someone with PTSD?
Could a buried piece of pottery or stone sculpture last 10 million years?
Asking for a writing project. If I made a clay vase or something and buried it, could someone find it 10 million years later? Would details such as facial features carved in it and paint/glaze still be visible, or would they be destroyed?

How precise is radioactive dating on rocks from the late Cretaceous/early Cenozoic?
Like, if you do radioactive dating on a rock or fossil and it says it’s 65,000,000 years old, what’s the range of time it could’ve actually been formed? Also, can we even date fossils that are too old for carbon dating directly, or do you have to estimate based on the rock it’s embedded in?
