Lately, I've noticed that TBird has been not loading any emails into my MS360 account until I click on the Inbox for that account. That is; the Inbox remains dormant, not highlighted, no sign of activity, no emails are loading, when in fact several are waiting. This is true even if I left the inbox open and an existing message selected while clicking out to work on something else. The app is not minimized; I can see other accounts receiving emails, their Inboxes go bold and a circle with the number of new emails appears next to it. The emails will not load even after hours of waiting, I discovered to my chagrin.

When I click on the inbox for that account, all the waiting emails load. So its not a matter of the account not working per se. The messages appear suddenly, all at once, as if they were received, but the page did not update.

I am running Windows 10 on an HP ZBook. As always, I verify the problem on another computer that has an identical setup, albeit an older model ZBook. The problem occurs on my backup computer also.

I saw that there was a separate issue with MS accounts that was patched in the latest update. My problem was happening while using V. 150. I have updated to V. 152 and the problem persists.

Any insights would be appreciated.

I received three emails on the same thread, and initially the second email displayed properly: It showed that it was from "Mr. B" in the group, had his own email content in the body. But at some point after the third email appeared - "Mr. C" replying to "Mr. B" - selecting that email no longer showed the second message, but the reply to that message. The correspondent column showed Mr. B as the sender, but the email clearly shows Mr. C's reply.

Somehow the client has linked the wrong email to that email link (so to speak). I have restarted, it does not correct. I check the account on another computer and it does NOT have the anomaly.

I have had this happen in the past, to a much greater degree in that multiple emails were displaying the wrong email in the window. At that time I deleted and re-installed Thunderbird.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or have a clue how to correct it?

ADDITIONAL: Its now happening on the other computer, though not to the same emails. Sometimes the email just appears totally blank. It seems that it only happens to emails received while TBird is on.

It does not show up in the online account. This is an IMAP account so the files should be re-synching all the time; but maybe the client doesn't know that there's a problem. Is there some way to force TBird to re-download a particular email from the server?

I once saw what was described to me as a "Classic" Hong Kong Action Flick at an after-hours viewing party in an office in downtown SF in the 90's. The story centered around a Kung Fu master and his young apprentice, who may have been father and son. They spent a lot of time wandering from town to town, though because they were avoiding something or just itinerant, I cannot remember.

One line I recall the master repeating to his apprentice goes something like, "When there is nothing to be done, there is nothing left to do." This may have been a bad translation in the subtitles, of course.

The only other defining characteristic I can recall is that the pair went to an island (or some other isolated place) looking for a secret flying Kung Fu society. They were surprised when they found themselves suddenly surrounded by flying Kung Fu masters who announced themselves by loudly proclaiming - in unison - "We are The Secret Flying Kung Fu Society!"

I am, of course, paraphrasing.

Is my memory coherent enough that someone can name this film? Thanks.

EDIT: I saw this in about 1993, and it wasn't brand new then.

I am extremely frustrated because I have multiple slideshows with background images I added, but today I am stymied. In Format background, selected "Picture or texture fill," whenever I click the "Insert..." button the application freezes. It is supposed to open a window that allows me to select an image, and i think that process starts but no window opens. I have "repaired" the application, I even reinstalled and had to enter by key again, but the problem persists.

I am using Office 2016, and I am running Windows 10.

I have hit alt-tab to see if the dialog box is hidden. I have turned off all add-ons (I only had one). I have started it in safe mode. I have updated my intel drivers. Nothing has repaired it.

I can find no other advice on line. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can anyone - PG&E, City of SJ, knowledgeable civilian - give any update on the gas leak that occurred last night (May 26th) around 8:00 PM? It was apparently caused by street construction at the corner of Santa Clara Street and Third Street. I was evacuated from my hotel and couldn't get back in for several hours, so I am now staying in SF and can't just look down the street. I've called PG&E & the city of SJ and they have no information. My hotel is not answering.

Just surprised that there is no site or source for any information about a gas leak that evacuated about 1 city block (my estimate.) I know PG&E says "No evacuation, but i was evacuated, so consider that an update.

Any credible info appreciated.

UPDATE: My hotel is open again, so I will live. Work continues, though. But if anyone says they didn't evacuate anyone, I can promise you they did. Kicked out at 8:00, at 11:00 PM they said no entrance for the forseeable future, and that's effectively saying, "Go find somewhere else to sleep."

I heard from a PG&E sign man that they had detected multiple leaks from different areas, and suspected that very old plastic pipe had become brittle and cracked under the stress of the jackhammering.
