What’s a cliché that has proven to be surprisingly true as you’ve gotten older?
reddit.comPeople who routinely speed in the city/suburbs
What do you feel like you’re accomplishing? Don’t you notice when cars you’ve passed pull up beside you again at the next red light? Do you not feel any danger in the close calls as you tailgate and weave your way across lanes? Why drive aggressively and put others at risk just to get there in about the same amount of time anyway? Why add unnecessary wear to your vehicle’s parts? Why waste fuel/energy, contributing to our already out of hand environmental issues?
I could maybe understand if you’re driving a sports car, but the majority of you are in commuter sedans, crossover SUVs, trucks, etc., which can’t feel very fun to push that hard. The strangest part of it all is that many of you seem to be angry at other drivers who are obeying the rules and driving safely. I find all of this genuinely confusing, so if you have any insight as to what drives this kind of behavior (or what you’re thinking when you do it), let me know!
What’s something people say is a waste of money but you think is totally worth it?
reddit.comAsking for tips at a self checkout
At Torchy’s Tacos today after using the self checkout station, I was shown a tipping screen with a minimum suggested amount of 18%. For what?! The “no tip“ option is the only reasonable choice. If it’s considered rude to not arbitrarily pay 18%+ extra for things, then so be it.
