Ladies, why tho?😂
Turns out there is such a thong. How do you even put this on comfortably? wouldn't you rather go commando?
How do you even wash this by the way? 😂
Cheering for others
Years ago I used to be very judgy and disgusted by people doing PDA. Like get a room guys. But now at this point in life after realizing how hard it is to run a successful relationship, PDA makes me smile 😂.
I was watching this couple not wanting to let each other go, just smooching openly apo Githurai stage. People looking away and disgusted. Meanwhile I'm like niice! 😂.. hadi wangeniambia nizime streetlights na niweke roadblock wamalizane, sina shida 😂
Touching Java after years of Python
Today I decided to toy around with Springboot after years of Python. Lemme tell you, It feels like touching grass after scrolling social media 😂😂.. python really kinda took away that edge 😂.. Now this feels like programming. I wonder what it would feel like to go back to C/C++ rn.
FYI, Java was my first language. Started pale netbeans when darkmode was shitty and Intellij was unknown to me 😂
I have actually been thinking of doing a systems programming project to challenge myself and break the web dev boredom. This might be the start of that journey.
Is AirBnB outliving it's own appealingness?
Do you think they have a future? or are they treading light waters?
The main thing that made it attractive to people in the start has changed.
It was about spare rooms in the house, not an investment. That made it affordable. Now people are investing with the purpose of making huge profits.
Service - Some used to get breakfast. Now unlike hotels, guests have to even do cleanups including laundry. Kinda makes hotels appealing again.
Safety - Now people are getting more and more cautious of recording cameras, and deaths in others.
Purpose - The company thought they'd be for temporary stays, now they are synonymous with hookups.
I was watching a property manager complain about how she ditched managing the business coz of the high investment from hosts and low demand from users. Apparently demand is still good, but there is market saturation, hence competition that makes even getting 50% occupancy rate a problem.
Being one's spare room at home made the operation cheap. But now people buy units, furnish, pay cleaners, pay for ads, pay managers, etc. Eating away at margins. Do you think the company has a future? or will people end up in hotels?
Is uber going in the same direction?
Celebrating 100k views in 4 months after launch 🥳
We are celebrating 100k views across all tours in 4 months after launch. Including all active and expired ones. We haven't started ad campaigns yet.
4 months ago, I launched 57places right here, which is a place for those who love adventure and can go and discover more tours curated by African agencies, and enquire to book. Some of you were very supportive and even joined our Whatsaap channel and we are thankful for you being part of our journey 🤗.
Now we are seeing steady growth across all metrics: views, SEO, agencies getting enquires, etc. As we stand, top visitors are led by Kenyans 😁, United states, Vietnam, Brazil, Bangladesh, Colombia, South Africa, Argentina, Ecuador and Indonesia. I'm excited to see what december will be like being the peak month.
It's clearer than ever that we are just getting started. Thanks to all agency operators who believed in us and decided to grow with us. May everyone here afford your dream tour on the platform 🤗
Anyone else with Starlink speed and random outages issues?
I did an enterprise network installation gig a month ago for an NGO, and things were all good. But recently Starlink has been having outage issues coz of their capacities. I read it is so bad that they put a hold on onboarding new customers.
Anyone else having similar issues? Does anyone have any temporary fix I don't know about?
Ps: I created a r/KenyaNetworking sub for specific networking topics. You are welcome if you have interest in computer networking, ISPs or jobs in the field.
I just built my first word game: Take5. Any feedback and tips?
The wordgame is called take5, a variation of hangman. You guess the letters in a set word one at a time with only ten chances until the FIVE is spelt out. Every correct letter guess reveals the letter in the black tiles, if wrong you advance the spelling of the FIVE.
You can even set a challenge for your friend and send it to them to try via a link.
Being my first game to launch, I could use some tips on marketing it, and feedback from users and their experience.
I am back with a new game I just built
Last time I built a color game and you guys loved it. This time I built a wordgame called take5 that is a word guessing game. You have 10 chances to guess the word letter by letter before FIVE is spelt out.
The bonus is that you can also set a challenge for your friends and send them a link to try. Let me know what you think.

Good Tv Shows: The Agency
A good TV show really leaves you in its mood. You feel infected by it 😂.. When I watched Peaky Blinders I just felt like closing deals 😂.. na hata shamba ya Ngong Town I could not manage to get a customer 😂..
Now I am watching The Agency and it is so good it got me feeling like a CIA operative 😂.. and I can't even remember the number of the car I boarded a few hours ago. Alafu that black chick whew! Body tea! Melanin imeshika hadi inaninice. I hear they just finished filming in Kenya na skua najua 😭.. that was my chance to meet my new crush
Books have the same effect too! Anyway, cheers to really good writing, directing, and acting 🥂.
Payment providers barely take more than 2-5%, how is SAAS supposed to survive now with 16% more on the customers?
Authors are oppressed in Kenya. From high piracy to this
Who was your favorite Shujaaz character?
Those publications were hot back then. Everyone in class wanted to read the new issue. Teachers were competing for our attention with the books 😂. By the way, I saw they have a big program beyond the book that is still going on https://www.shujaazinc.com/
There was:
- DJ B - The voice of reason. This dude pioneered podcasts 😂
- Maria Kim - This was the Carolyne Mutuko wa ghetto ikifika ni class na standards 😂..
- Chuxxie - Mans was the first sharp boy 😂. From selling mutura ya paka, selling fake jeans, theft, etc.
- Malkia - This girl was unhinged 😂.. There was no telling what she was up to next. She reminds me of a classmate I had in primary school - Rosemary Njoki
- Charlie Pele - The boy was always in the streets, crazy about football. We could never agree on the correct way to spell his name 😂
My favourite character was Malkia, and her grandma, of course 😂.. Maria Kim was fine but not as adventurous. Who was your favourite?
Kids are dangerously adorable
I was standing on the side of the road, ready to cross. Then I felt a little hand hold my hand. I look and find it is this little, cute, young boy I have never seen before. Looking up at me like 🙂... then he points at the road. We cross together, he says thank you, and he runs off. Now I have baby fever 😂..
Pity is not a sustainable strategy
At some point, people give up and rely on pity to survive. The problem with that is how much it strips from you. Pitying yourself and asking others is basically giving up on all your abilities and promises to try. With time, you actually start believing you are incapable. Soon enough, if no one pities you, you won't have anything to eat.
Sure one person might pity you and help now, but as soon as they interact with you enough to know you have no desire to outgrow pity, they know you are a burden. No one likes burdens, including you.
Can you judge anyone for that? Coz how many times do you even pity people in a day? and how many times out of those get to benefit from your pity? The truth is that everyone is trying to do their part, and they need to see and feel like you are doing yours too.
Pity takes your pride and voice away. You can't expect someone to pity you into a relationship, into paying your bills, or even into a job, and expect to be able to call them out when they are crossing your boundaries. With what laverage? You are helpless without them. So you will sit there and take shit from them in exchange for the pity.
I respect people who ask for loans instead of borrowing money. Coz they still have some self belief that they still can figure it out and pay back. They still respect and value their abilities. And so the world rewards them coz they don't just sit around and wait. Something gives coz a moving man always meets his luck.
You hate that no one in your life loves you for nothing? Guess what, you love no one for free either. They are either fun to be around, bring you entertaiment, parent you, advice you, give you money or something else. Even your mom is not just another woman coz she birthed you. So yeah, that is just the way of humans. You have to create some value to even love yourself.
You should be very scared of pity. Coz it disarms and disables you for how cozy it might feel for a second. But that's all there is to it. It doesn't last long. Pick your pride up and work on yourself to back it up. You'd rather be arrogant than pathetic.
Kiriamiti's books aside: Which is your favourite Kenyan Crime novel?
I loved this novel about foreign currency smuggling and I'm thinking of rereading it again. But it would be nice to hear more from you.
