School uniform

School uniforms for my girls have gotten ridiculously expensive when bought directly from school or the outsourced store.

Last year I got uniforms from LCT uniforms and saved a little. But this year they don't offer uniforms for these schools. Would anyone have an alternate recommendation for school uniforms? Schools - Al Diyafah High School and Dubai Scholars.

Cashback card - school fees, fuel, groceries

I've been using Tabby card and cash card for the party few months but even with the new categories, it doesn't give much Cashback. Also, one of my main expenses is school fees, fuel and groceries. I don't mind a minimum spend.

Can anyone recommend a cashback card I can use to maximize on the cashback for these?

Car rental for NZ trip

I'm planning to rent a car and drive across NZ. Plan to to land in Auckland and drive around North island. Then fly to Queenstown and rent another car for south island. Anyone who has rented a car, pls help me out with below info.

  1. Any recommendations for car rentals? Or any I should avoid?

  2. I'm debating between petrol cars or hybrid considering the gas prices and distance. Never driven a hybrid before...any advise?

  3. Do I need snow chains for south island? If I have a medium size SUV, will that suffice?

  4. Is there a rate difference if you rent from airport or from city?

  5. The excess amounts are ridiculously high. Is it worth the risk taking the bare minimum or should I go for the max coverage?

BookMe.co.nz - Recommended?

I'm planning for a family holiday to NZ and came across BookMe site, as it was mentioned by one of the youtubers. I see a significant difference in prices between booking some of the tourist activities on this website, but I see a mixed review about them on trust pilot.
Has anyone used this before, any issues or would you recommend it?

Credit card usage in NZ

I'm travelling to NZ on holiday for 2 weeks. I've learned that there is a 2% surcharge on credit card usage and I should only use debit cards. I've also read that the surcharge is on the paywave technology and not charged if I insert the card for payment (and not tap).
I'm confused! Is the charge for using credit card or for the 'Tap and Pay', or for both? If I tap a debit card, will the surcharge apply?

Appreciate some clarity.

New Zealand visa appointment VFS Dubai

I've been checking for appointment for a visit visa for NZ. Keep seeing a message that no appointments are available. Is there a specific time or day they release slots?

Geely service centre

Just got to know today that AGMC Geely has shut down their service centre in Deira. Now it's only at Shk Zayed road.

Sadly there was no communication to existing customers.

Tabby+ card

I'm new to Tabby+ and have been using my tabby card to get Cashback. It's only my first month and I'm still trying to understand the product.

  1. Is there a minimum spend for getting Cashback?

  2. I saw that paying off the tabby card balance with credit card will get 1% charge. Is it better off then to pay it with debit? Or is there some work around?

  3. I'm on a free trial with tabby+ till month end, after which I will be charged 49AED. Is tabby+ worth?

  4. Do you get same Cashback on tabby card?

Appreciate some guidance from anyone who is experienced with Tabby.

Cashback credit card

I've been on the lookout for a Cashback card for a while now. Presently I'm using ADCB lulu card and ENBD Skywards card, along with Tabby+ card.

I've done my research and have narrowed it down to 2 cards - ADCB365 ( for fuel and salik) and ADIB (for school fees) Cashback card. FAB card was an option but I've heard such terrible stories.

Just wondering if there is any card that I missed that can give me the same percentage/higher cap amt? Anything I need to be warned off before I apply?
