N1 and Advice
Here’s my situation and looking for strong sound counsel. Son plays U13, and up until last year played EDP. He is our team’s best player, is a left-footed Left Back and IQ is off the charts. This past Spring he tried out and made an MLS Next club, but the commute was an hour each way and he wasn’t ready to leave his “friends” at age 12. He’s comfortable. Fast forward to today, his team has moved to a brand new startup club which is affiliated with N1. It shows promise, but my concern is that he’s not going to get the exposure he deserves.
Do you feel he’s in a good spot and at age 12 it shouldn’t matter until, say, 14? We do have other clubs affiliated with ECNL. I want to make sure he’s comfortable, but also have him realize his potential is so much more than his current group.
