HM egypt late may?

My fiancé and I are from Mexico and we're considering Egypt for our honeymoon around May 18th, 2027. (13 nights aprox)

Our biggest concern is the weather. Is the heat in Luxor, Aswan and Cairo unbearable at that time of the year or is it still manageable if we're used to hot weather?

We're thinking about: Hurghada (3 nights) → Nile Cruise (4 nights) → Cairo (3 nights) → Rome (3 nights).

Would you change anything about this itinerary? Any must-do experiences or places you'd skip?

Thanks in advance

"Egypt in late May for our honeymoon?"

Hi everyone!

I'm planning my honeymoon in Egypt. We're getting married on May 15th, 2027, and would probably start our trip around May 18th.

First of all, do you think the heat will be unbearable during the last two weeks of May? I know it's a dry heat, and we're pretty used to hot weather since we're from Mexico, but I also don't want the heat to completely ruin the trip.

Second, this is the itinerary I have in mind:

Fly directly to Hurghada and spend 3–4 nights at a boutique luxury resort on the Red Sea to relax. I'm considering Casa Cook in El Gouna, so I'd love to hear any reviews or other recommendations.

Then transfer to Luxor. I'm not sure whether we should spend one night there or not—it probably depends on transportation logistics. The idea is to board a 4-night Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan. I've been looking at options like the Soleil or the Oberoi.

In Aswan, I'm also undecided about spending a night there. We'd love to visit Abu Simbel, but I'm not sure whether the early morning tour or the nighttime experience is better.

From there, we'd fly back to Cairo and spend 2–3 nights exploring everything there is to see—the pyramids, museums, etc.

Finally, we'd fly to Rome for the last three days of our trip to enjoy a change of scenery before heading home.

What do you think of this itinerary? Any suggestions for hotels, routes, must-see places, or things you would avoid?

I'm also open to completely different honeymoon ideas for that time of year! We love ancient civilizations, desert and sea landscapes, and unique cultural experiences. We're planning for the entire trip to be around 17 nights in total.

Thanks everyone!

HM late may 2027

I’m getting married on May 15, 2027, and we’re planning our honeymoon. One option we’re considering is Tanzania (7 nights) followed by Zanzibar (4 nights) to relax after the safari, but we have a lot of questions.

Is that a good time of year to visit Tanzania and Zanzibar? (Witnessing the Great Migration isn't a priority for us; it’s our first time in Africa.)

Is that amount of time enough? We don’t want to feel rushed.

Which tour operator do you recommend? We’re looking for something in the mid-range to luxury category, with a budget of around $6,000–$7,000 USD for the safari portion. (is it a realistic budget?)

Do you have any other tips or opinions?
