Extension for Rhine river cruise?

Hello! I have a 7 night Rhine River cruise in August 2027, Amsterdam-Basel on AMA. My husband and I will be flying in and out of Boston, MA. Is it possible to do just the cruise without pre and post stays? I’m sure it’s great to add on but we are short on time. I’d really appreciate your thoughts. Thank you in advance!!!

Is it worth waiting for AmaRudi? Or is a smaller ship better?

Never done a river cruise before, but the ships always seem a little claustrophobic compared to what I'm used to (we usually do one Caribbean, Carnival cruise each Winter). My husband really wants to do a summer river cruise, and we've been looking at some options. AmaWaterways double-width ships seem like a good option. I want to wait and book on the AmaRudi (https://openjaw.com/newsroom/cruise/2026/06/25/amawaterways-reveals-amarudi-europes-largest-river-cruise-ship/), but my other half wants to book sooner and smaller, he thinks it will be "cozy" to be on something small, and is looking at Avalon's options—does not like the idea of a double-width ship.
Am I worrying over nothing? How crowded do river ships actually feel? Like, can you find space without other passengers?

Best river cruise: Nile River (Cairo, pyramids, etc)

Hi all. We're looking to do an adult only river cruise on the Nile, oct 2027 (depending on availability). It would be me and my spouse (early 40s, late 30s), and my parents (mid 70s). Anywhere between 7-14 days.

The pyramids are the #1 reason for the cruise.

They love uniworld river cruises, and we've done viking ocean and HAL ocean ones before. Our last viking cruise i felt as if the quality has gone way down since our last one in 2019.

Budget is around 15k per person (not including airfare).

My mother has gotten extremely picky in her old age so looking for top of the line, especially when it comes to food and excursions.

Thanks!
