[Art Market] Is my stall overwhelming?

I haven’t finished arranging the items yet and I haven’t made price tags/labels yet but I’m wondering if there’s too many different types of things going on here?

The two lavender crates both have prints but the left is linoprints and the right is digital/risoprint (I will label them as such) I’ve decided to separate them because buyers dont tend to notice when things are hand printed, but they do appreciate handprinted things.

Is it overwhelming if the same designs can be seen on the board display and also in the crates?

When I say overwhelming I’m concerned about both visual overwhelm and also I’m concerned about people feeling that there’s too much choice if that makes sense. There are quite a few prints available in the crates, as well as a lot of different mini postcard linoprints in that clear box front left. I guess people don’t HAVE to look at everything?

Thanks!

Please help name my queer/trans art business!

I’ve been making and selling my art on/off under the name “Zedvon” or “ZedvonTattoo” for almost 10 years because it’s a contraction of my real name and I used to do tattooing, but I’m looking to level up my business and I’d love to have a new name with some more meaning, clarity and catchiness. I’ve been struggling to think of one for ages and it’s delaying making a social media and business cards. Any help would be appreciated!

I am a queer, non-binary, dyke, chronically ill (fatigue), crip, anti-capitalist artist. My art centres the queer experience, queer/trans/crip power/resistance/joy. I guess a lot of my art is a bit silly and a bit feisty. It’s for the freaks like me.

I primarily work in linoprint and digital illustration.

I’m equally happy to have identity words eg “queer” “tranny” “genderfreak” in my name or to have symbolic words like “lavender” or to skip that altogether and just have random words. I’m drawn to business names that are random/whimsy like Grandpa’s Swamp, I think that’s a great name.

Please any ideas would be super great! Thank you!

Does these floorboards need replacing?

I had new radiators installed so I had to rip out the laminate flooring in the downstairs WC and utility closet.

I was planning to lay down 6mm plywood and then felt backed sheet vinyl on top of the existing floorboards, but now that they’re exposed I can see that there is some woodworm damage to them. I am not sure if they need replacing (and if so, with what?) or if I should go ahead and lay the plywood and vinyl.

The existing planks are 1950s and I think the woodworm is historic? The planks feel slightly lightweight and *slightly* soft ie if I press hard with my nail or a screwdriver it will indent 1mm. But I do feel very confident walking on them that they won’t give way.

When I asked the team of plumbers if they’d noticed anything wrong under or with my floorboards they said no everything fine 🤷

Also, is it supposed to look like such a mess under the floor? The house has passed its EICR recently. I am just an anxious new homeowner.

Any advice appreciated please! Thanks 🙏

My first Plein air painting!

5 x 7, oil paint
Stirling, Scotland

I’m feeling happy with my first attempt at painting en Plein air. It was very fun.

Next time I’ll definitely take something to use as a viewfinder, and maybe some shade. Also varnishing my DIY palette in red wasn’t smart.

I’d like to do this scene again pushing values more for a better sense of lighting and focus on grouping values to give a nicer composition. Critique is welcome :)

Will moving in with a partner who’s also on LCWRA count as a new claim with regards to the lower LCWRA?

Both my partner and I are on UC/LCWRA, and we’re hoping to move in together soon. We’re in Scotland. We’re trying to figure out what our financial situation will be if/when we move in together. At the moment we each receive the higher LCWRA element (~£400) as well as basic individual UC element (and also each receive ADP).

Will we count as new claimants and as well as only one of us being able to receive the LCWRA element, the LCWRA drop down to the lower rate of ~£200? That would mean that by moving in together our combined income would reduce by around £600 - even before considering that we’d be receiving a lower couples element of basic UC.

It doesn’t seem feasible for one of us to apply for carers allowance since even though we are both each other’s carers (we both have fluctuating health and care needs), our disabilities are very similar.

This situation is causing a lot of stress because I’m not sure how we’re going to be able to budget with over £350 less per month each. I’m not sure if it’s going to be possible to move in together, but it’s both of our dream.

Any help is appreciated please!

I was just popping to the greenhouse to bring in the pepper seedlings when I suddenly saw these two hoggies only 2 metres to my right, lit up by the floodlight I triggered by walking down there. They were completely still.

At first I thought maybe they’re sleeping??? Then I thought maybe they’re deadly scared?

I excitedly went back into the house to bring out some hedgehog kibble and a plate of water for them (I normally don’t put food out for them because there’s cats around that eat it first) but even after I put it down by them they hadn’t moved at all.

I’m worried that maybe I really scared them. I hope I haven’t like given them heart attacks 😭
Other people’s garden hedgehogs look less bothered by seeing people, is that because they are regularly fed?

I’m thinking to get a red filter for the floodlight, should that help?
