Hey everyone! Between recently getting into birding myself, the influx of lovely bird pictures the subreddit's recently hosted, and more specifically this comment, I went ahead and created /r/madisonwibirds!

I've set up a welcome post as the subreddit is still getting started up, but feel free to post (or crosspost from here) with any pictures, videos, art, questions, etc. about birds and birding in Madison!

If anyone has any recommendations or questions about the subreddit, feel free to leave them below or in the sub's welcome post; it's been awhile since I've set a subreddit help and won't mind any constructive criticism. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing all the birds our city is blessed with.

Hello bird enthusiasts of Madison, WI! With the recent migratory season bringing great pictures to /r/madisonwi from Sandhill Cranes to Red Winged Blackbirds, this comment from /u/Cessnateur inspired me to go ahead and make this subreddit.

This subreddit is for pictures, videos, art, and discussion of birds around Madison. I've added a couple flairs to get us started, but if there's anything missing, please let me know.

Since this is also our first post in the subreddit, please use the comments below or Mod Mail if you have any questions or recommendations for the future of the sub.
