QTS certificate

Just finished my first year on teach first and I still don’t have my QTS certificate from DoE. I have sent them 7 emails so far.

Anyone else having this issue? If I don’t have it soon my school will be even later in increasing my salary to the appropriate level.

Pizza for the evening

I’m getting married in August. The ceremony is at 13:00, we have canopies when people arrive at the reception (roughly at 15:00) then food at 17:00. We really wanted to just order pizza for everyone in the evening, possibly at 21:00

We love the idea of getting pizza delivered, it’s a fun idea that we have had for a while but haven’t explored the practicalities of it.

What do you think is the best way to order pizza for 140 people? I was thinking that a large pizza between 3 people will be more than enough so that’s 47 pizzas.

Do I order from one place and hope they get it right? Or order from 3 or 4 different places with instructions to arrive at a specific time and hope they arrive at a similar time?

For context, we are getting married at Sheffield Cathedral in Sheffield UK with the reception at Trafalgar Warehouse, so both in the city centre with plenty of pizza places that deliver to that area.

AITAH for not wrapping my mother’s birthday present?

It was my mother’s 60th birthday recently and because of work and other factors my partner and I did not see her on the actual day, we live about 150 miles away.

We are certainly not in a bad position financially, but I am in a trainee position at work, we have just bought a new house and we are getting married in a few months so money is a little bit tight right now (before anyone comments I am not going to say we can’t afford wrapping paper!). My mother asked me for a Tiffany necklace that was over £300 between me, my sister (currently at university) and my partner. So the present was affordable but it’s still an expensive gift for us right now.

On her actual birthday we made sure to call her and send her a big custom card from moonpig with pictures of us all together that she really liked.

When we saw her next, she was stopping at our house for the weekend as it was my bridal shower. When we gave her the necklace in its beautiful blue box and she said thank you and put it on. Although it was a very muted thank you. I also made her a lovely birthday breakfast in the garden with balloons and bunting, something she didn’t say thank you for. The entire weekend she was in a foul mood and was constantly critiquing me for various things and did not say a nice thing about me, even during my bridal event and it really put a downer on the event, and made me feel extremely upset.

When she when she left she then told my sister (who couldn’t attend my shower) that I ‘didn’t even bother to wrap my necklace’ and I am a bit devastated over her comments. This may seem like a small issue but it’s a constant one where I feel that I am overly criticised by her and I cannot do anything right for her.

Maybe I should have wrapped the gift, and I could hide behind how busy and tired we both have been but we could have done it. But I feel that if it wasn’t this that she found issue with it would have been something else.

AITAH?
