Need help finding an OB in Markham for 23-week pregnancy
Hi everyone,
We recently moved from Mississauga to Markham, and we’re now 23 weeks pregnant and trying to find an OB in the Markham area. We’re honestly feeling completely stuck and would really appreciate any advice, recommendations, or guidance from people who have gone through this.
Our family doctor in Mississauga was aware that we were moving early on, but he said he couldn’t refer us to Markham doctors until after the move. He did refer us to Credit Valley Hospital, and we even got a call from there, but by that time we had already moved. After that, when the Mississauga family doctor referred us to OBs in Markham, they were rejected because they’re not accepting new patients.
We then found a new family doctor in Markham, and he told us to call every OB we could find online and check who is accepting new pregnant patients, then once we let him know he will send out the referral. His reasoning being that if he sends and they reject then the turn around time would be longer.
We’ve started calling around, but most places aren’t accepting new patients at all. Some don’t even let you speak to anyone, the automated message just says they are not accepting new patients and asks people not to leave voicemails. A few said they may accept, but only for next year, which doesn’t really help us right now.
At this point we’re really unsure what to do next. If anyone has advice on:

• or what happens if we can’t find one in time,
we’d be very grateful.
