Surgeon told me to lose 40 lbs in 6 weeks
If not allowed, please delete-I just don’t know where else to share this insane story. I’ve been trying to lose weight to have a breast reduction, and I wanted a professional’s opinion. I really want a reduction; I’m 32 with no kids and no one to impress, but I’m in a ton of back pain and all of my weight is in my stomach and breasts- my breasts alone weigh 11 pounds. So I consulted with my PCP and she suggested a few different surgeons to consult with, and I started with a really highly rated surgeon. I went for my consultation and he wanted to schedule me for surgery 6 weeks from my consultation date. He said in order for my surgery to go through, he needed me to lose 40 lbs in 5 weeks, which is completely unreasonable, unhealthy, and highly wishful thinking. So I’m still shopping for a surgeon in my area while I lose weight, but I just thought it was so unrealistic. Be careful when choosing a surgeon.
