EMDP2 Package
Anyone who was accepted into EMDP2 willing to send me their EMDP2 packages?
Anyone who was accepted into EMDP2 willing to send me their EMDP2 packages?
I hope everyone is doing well! Has anyone been accepted into the EMDP2 program with a SAT waiver? Scored a 1200 but had a 570 in the math section 😭😭 The ACT score is out of of the 5 year limit or would be in the clear with a 28 on the ACT 😩
I am going to college through VR&E and I am a computer science major.
I filled out the form to request equipment and supplies and I wrote justifications in a word document with an academic justification and a disability justification based on my VA ratings and medical history. I found case studies that were relevant to the academic and disability justifications for the bigger ticket items. I don’t feel like I was requesting too much stuff only 10 items. I also referenced the M28C. My VRC came back and said if my requested items aren’t a requirement then it probably won’t be approved and she told me my laptop has to be purchased through the bookstore. She’s the one that approved or Denys me right? She mentioned she had to send it up to management for final review and that I probably won’t get approved. I’m not asking for the sky and the moon my total cost of everything was below 5k. I know what I’m entitled to and won’t give up.
I want to hear y’all’s story’s about requesting equipment and supplies through VR&E. The good the bad and the ugly!
I am medically retiring my PDRL date is May 29th. I know the VA doesn’t pay partial months so my first full month is June. With the speed the VA has been pushing claims these days is it possible to receive my first payment June 1st? The VA already has my DD214. Does my DFAS account need to show up as a retired account before the VA starts my disability pay? Comment below if you recently medically retired or did a BDD claim and let me know what your timeline was! Thank you!
Current or former EMDP2 participants, especially Navy specific, I had a question regarding pregnancy during the program.
Has anyone seen or experienced a situation where a service member was pregnant before attending EMDP2, became pregnant while in the program, or during the transition to the program?
I’ve read the DoDMERB guidance and understand pregnancy can affect medical qualification timelines, but I’m trying to understand the real world side of it. Does pregnancy result in removal from the program, deferment, waiver consideration, continuation with accommodations, etc.?
Looking specifically for personal experiences or firsthand knowledge from people actually connected to EMDP2.
Appreciate any insight.
What up everyone! Happy Monday!
My retirement date is coming up, so I’ve been doing a lot of research and gathering everything I need for my CRSC application.
While digging through everything, I found out that on April 30th, SECWAR publicly stated that he supports the Major Richard Star Act.
I also found that H. Res. 1247 was introduced in the House to bring H.R. 2102, the Major Richard Star Act, to the House floor for consideration.
Just to clarify:
H.R. 2102 is the Major Richard Star Act.
H. Res. 1247 is the resolution/rule meant to bring H.R. 2102 to the House floor for consideration.
The Navy CRSC timeline is rough. I’ve seen timelines saying 12 to 18 months, sometimes longer.
If the Major Richard Star Act gets approved, and I am already on the PDRL and coded as combat injured, do you think DFAS/DoD would automatically roll me into the MRSA/concurrent receipt process?
Or do you think I would still need to wait for CRSC approval first to prove combat related eligibility?
I’m still planning to submit CRSC either way, but I’m curious what others think, especially anyone who has dealt with Chapter 61, PDRL, combat injured coding, CRSC, or concurrent receipt issues.
