I got the FR1 80. No ventilation? How to break in without going outside?

After much browsing I finally got committed to the FR1 80. There's zero ventilation! Also, how do I break in the liner without going outside?

I've been wearing them for a total of 5 hours--15-30 minute at a time--inside the house, but man, it's not breaking in. Circulation cutting off.

Are there any knockoffs, dupes, or white label shells, frames, wheels that are just as good as the brand name?

Seeing these Frankenstein set ups got me curious.

I've also been watching Youtube videos about what to avoid and dove down the rabbit hole browsing at cheap skates like a cheapskate.

Help me make sense of the reviews on the FR1 80. Shouldn't shell length and width be displayed as well?

According to the size chart on IW for the FR1 80, I am 273mm or 27.3cm and I should get size 10.

Yet there are reviews where people say:

  • "I am 27.5 mondo point or MP. I bought the size 10-10.5 Fr1 skates and they are comfortable but to big"
  • "I am a size 10 and went down to the size 9 because the boot/shell size increases from 9 to 10"

If the liner or shell(?) accommodates up to 270mm for size 9, logically one should get size 10, however, the reviews indicate otherwise. Which means the liner accommodates up to 270mm, then what is the actual shell size? Why isn't the shell size displayed?

Is the sizing chart the size of the foot, the (hard) shell, or what?

As you know, I've been spending some time on this sub looking for a pair of inline skates for my kid and myself. Getting my kid his Rollerblade Apex Junior was the easy part.

As for the adult, when I look at the sizing chart, I can't help but to wait to size up. If, for example, someone's foot is 275mm or 27.5cm, according to the chart, they should be size 9-9.5. But if 27.5cm is the absolute limit, shouldn't they size up to 10-10.5?

But if everyone is saying to stay at size 9-9.5, then what is the actual (hard) shell length?

I don't see any site mentioning the length or width of the (hard) shell.

Does anyone decorate or change the color of their shells to make it uniquely yours?

The typical black or white hard boots feel boring.

Anyone plasti-dip or spray paint their hard boots?

I ordered skates but they're on backorder until at least July 25... How do I survive until then?

I got my kid his Rollerblade Apex, but I have to wait at least an entire month for my first pair to arrive!

:(

Also, how do I teach my kid (6) to inline skate while I don't have skates in the meant time? I've watched a bunch of Youtube videos already.

Experience with returning worn/used skates purchased from Amazon?

Alright, so I've committed to buying size 9-9.5 skates... problem is, Inline Warehouse doesn't have any of the Rollerblade Lightning 90 or Twister XT or 90R in size 9-9.5 until late next month. IW's website says returns must be new and in original packaging.

If I purchase through Amazon, will their return policy be more lax? Says "Sold by ABC company; shipped by Amazon"

Two different inline skates, two different sizing?

I measured my feet using this chart https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/fitlc/skates/inline-skate-sizing-instructions.html

I am 27cm or or 270mm according to their instructions.

I'm size 11 in athletic shoes and dress shoes.

According to the Rollerblade Lightning 90 size chart, I should be wearing a size 10-10.5 skate size. https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Rollerblade_Lightning_90/descpage-RBLTM90.html

According to the Rollerblade Twister XT and 90R, I should be wearing a size 9-9.5 skate size. Yet the liner says 270-275. https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Rollerblade_Twister_XT_Skates_-_Grey_Pearl_Periwinkle/descpage-TXTG26.html

I'm so confused.

Absolute noob looking for inline skates

Early 40s; tried inline skating and ice skating here and there when I was a teen. Can't say I've put skates on more than 10 times my whole life. I do have the very basics of standing up, sitting down, heel stop, t-stop, lemon stop.

I never learned to edge, skate backwards, or jump.

Now that I'm getting a pair for own kid--see my other post--I want to share that experience with him.

Price-wise I have no idea what is expensive or cheap.

All I know is that from diving down the rabbit hole, I've come to the conclusion that I want:

  • to skate around the neighborhood.
  • one-and-done purchase.
  • 4-wheels,
  • hard boot,
  • aluminum frame,

I've added the following to my cart.

https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Rollerblade_Lightning_90/descpage-RBLTM90.html

https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Rollerblade_Twister_XT_Skates_-_Grey_Pearl_Periwinkle/descpage-TXTG26.html

https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Rollerblade_Twister_90R/descpage-TW90R.html

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CSPHGJKP?th=1

Thoughts?

Any sales (Prime Day that's next week) that could bring the price down?

I need advice on shopping for kids inline skates.

My little man is 6 (going to first grade in August and is between size 1 and 2) and am looking to get him into inline skating. There's also an indoor roller rink a mile from home.

I've been looking at the Rollerblade Apex Adjustable Skates from Inline Warehouse and Amazon.

https://www.inlinewarehouse.com/Rollerblade_Apex/descpage-RBAB25.html

https://www.amazon.com/portal/customer-reviews/B0DVBP3L1P/ref=acr_dp_hist_1?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&reviewerType=all_reviews#reviews-filter-bar

There's one review on Amazon that says that liner is not adjustable...

How does this work for kids with growing feet where the liner becomes too small?

[Landlord US-CA] Can rent a home without ever conducting a viewing (as long as I upload lots of pictures)? I would be doing this on Zillow.

My parents want to rent out their condo. They don't speak English so it's difficult to communicate. They've asked me to handle their listing for them.

The condo is gated for cars in a very tight road in the older part of Los Angeles.

If I conduct a viewing, I would need a second person--one to open the gate and one to open the entry door. ....unless I set a strict viewing window where everyone must be present when I open the gate. Missed the meetup spot? Too bad?

Is there an efficient way to handle an open house viewing or should I do this all by photos (and video)?

///

Separately, a rental candidate requested my property tax bill.... extremely odd.. but I showed him the very redacted version with only the address on it.

[Landlord US-CA] Candidate has 12 ESA cats. How to decline professionally?

I have a candidate who is a single parent with three (3) kids, is section 8 and/or is receiving benefits for taking care of her kids because the kids have a disability.

None of these above information are issues.

The issue is 12 ESA cats, which is a huge concern for sanitation concerns, noise, smell, undue burden, health and safety concerns for my property.

This is what I currently have written but it seem TOO GENERIC and she'll read between the lines it's about the cats.

"Thank you for your application. After careful review, we have decided not to move forward with the application at this time. We appreciate your interest in the property and wish you the best in your housing search."

"Thank you for your application. After reviewing the overall occupancy and housing needs for the unit, we have determined the property is not the right fit for this tenancy. We appreciate your interest and wish you the best in your housing search."

There's this ADU behind the main home I'm looking to rent and the landlord says they use door codes only and a physical key is available in a lockbox for emergency use.

Anyone else rent a place where you're only provided a door code?

They told me they over-leveraged a failed Airbnb and turning it into long-term rental. I damn certain ADUs can't be put on Airbnb but I digress.

Hi, everyone. The last time I went to Santa Anita race track was when I was 7 or 8 in the 90s. My dad always took me.

I succinctly remember the cigarette odor and distinct food aroma exclusive to the race track permeating throughout, the green and white tiled floors, green painted walls. And I recall running through the tunnel to get to the playground in the infield. Is that still true today?

Each time I go to Arcadia mall, I see the picturesque backdrop and the art deco style. I wanted to go visit but I didn't want to go alone.

My dad still goes on occasion but he's gambler who's never had any luck with horse racing and that's always been a rift in his marriage so I don't want to tempt him. He often get mailers to go.

Now that I have my own kid, I want to visit new-to-him places and to create memories together.

Should I sign up for a mailer?

How do I get in, preferably for free, at different times of the time day--weekdays, weekends, nights, afternoon, etc.?

Can we ride, feed or pet the horses?

My limited experience from renting an entire unit leaves me to believe a fridge is NOT included in the lease. The last time I rented was in 2006-2008, and 2011-2014.

Under what conditions would a fridge be or not be included?
