New to keto, looking for assessment!

Hi everyone, as title says I am new here. almost three weeks ago, I began what I believe to be a keto diet. Here's what a typical day looks like for me:

Breakfast:

coffee with a splash of heavy cream, 4-5 eggs with cheese, butter, avocado

Lunch:

meat (usually beef, but sometimes turkey, sea food, or tuna) cooked in pork fat/ olive oil/ butter. I usually have hearty servings (like pretty g dang hardy) of cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, asparagus, swiss chard and leafy greens.. sometimes baked, but usually steamed and mixed with cheese/olive oil/some basamic vinegar. I also usually have another coffee with cream.

Dinner:

A really large salad with spinach, lettuce, arugula, and cucumber, pumpkin seeds, walnuts. I make my dressing with avacado, olive oil, basamic vinegar, and kefir that I make at home (let it ferment longer to eat the lactose). I also usually snack on almonds, and olives, and more cheese. I have experimented with an almond flour/egg/chia/flax muffin every now and then with some butter. I have more meat at night if I need it. Sometimes i have a very small glass of kombucha (which i also make at home and ferment for quite a while to cut out the sugar).

My reasons for doing keto are: to target some skin/supposed auto-immune problems I've had for a few years. I am not trying to jinx it, but I already feel my skin less inflamed after just a couple of weeks. So, I am trying not to be too excited yet, but am also very hopeful for this keto lifestyle. I am very active and am trying to continue to develop my performance with weight lifting/endurance sports as well.

From this community, I guess I'd just like reassurance that my diet looks ok for long-term use (or any advice or tips)- as I don't personally know anyone who has done this before.

Thanks to all, and wishing everyone well on their journeys!

A strong gut feeling to leave a wilderness camp

Edit: absolutely no influence of drugs! Also no history of mental health problems

Hi everyone- I’m a few days out of a 7 day through the beartooth/absaroka wilderness. I cannot stop thinking about an experience that my partner and I had on our last night of the trip, as nothing like this had ever happened to me before.

Story goes: we arrived early to camp at a lake, around 3:30pm. The lake was about a half a mile off the main trail, down into a basin. I started feeling a strange feeling then as we were dropping in… but figured I was just feeling tired. We hike around the lake, found the last spot.. there wasn’t a soul to be seen. We had a late lunch at our spot in the trees by the creek entering the lake. Closed our eyes and listened to the wind through the pines for about a half an hour… but I couldn’t feel restful. My partner pointed to the swaying lodgepole pines that looked like bending toothpicks. We got up to find a place for the tent.. and he asked if I was ok. I told him, “I think I’m just feeling a bit strange in this place.” He told me he was feeling similarly. Since before arriving to the lake.. we’d both told each other we had heard voices in the wind. I’m sure this community is familiar with the way a creek can sound like voices sometimes.. I had said earlier that the voices had sounded friendly, however. Now we were hearing them again at our camp (certain that nobody was camped nearby). We agreed that even with the weird energy, it was going to be okay and that we would set up the tent out of the trees.. in the tall grass by the lake. In the sunshine, things seemed to feel better as we set up. We went for a chocolate/coffee by the confluence of the creek/lake and I had the strongest gut feeling I’ve ever had as I watched the creek meander into the lake. Something told me so distinctly and clearly to leave that place. The way the water flowed into the lake looked like streams of tears.. or much more sinister.. like blood. A deep sense of sadness overtook me, and I felt sick to my stomach… I saw my partner checking his watch.. I asked him about it (we were both a little uneasily quiet). He tried to play it off cool… but asked me “are you sure you’re ok to stay here?” And I told him.. “honestly I feel really weird here. My gut is telling me to leave. I think I should listen.” So, we packed up faster than we ever had, and hiked the heck out of there. On our way out, we noticed a message someone had carved into a poor tree.. it was hard to read but it ended with “good luck to all who stay the night”. We felt lighter the further we got away from that place. So anyway… a very interesting and strong experience!

I am wondering if anyone has any similar or spooky stories of camps / places in the wilderness that have had a very obvious energy/ message.

Four years with Copper IUD

Hi everyone! I am wondering if anyone else has experienced chronic folliculitis after having their copper IUD inserted. I have struggled with Folliculitis (chronic on scalp) since I had my IUD inserted four years ago, and am just now starting to connect those dots. I am just curious if anyone has experienced something similar or has any advice! Thx in advance

Wandering..

Does anyone else struggle with their Doxie being an avid wanderer? My 6 month girl follows her nose (sometimes she will recall, but has that very selective hearing). We live in the countryside far from the road, but today a neighbor found her all the way down by the road and thankfully brought her up to us. She had been checked on just 10 minutes prior, so she is speedy. Out of concern for her safety.. Is it time to keep her on a cable out there? I am wondering if anyone has any helpful advice

Anyone ever tried a blood glucose meter/monitor?

Hi everyone- I've struggled with scalp folliculitis for 4 years now. I have been experimenting with my diet for the last year, taking a month to try eliminating one thing (coffee, or corn, etc.) and then seeing if there's a change/seeing what happens when I re-introduce it. (Also, I am not diabetic)

Unfortunately, I haven't had much success or seen anything drastic enough worth noting. This leads me to believe that I have lots of foods that trigger my folliculitis, not just one main trigger. I really think all skin problems including folliculitis come from some food that doesn't go well in our body for whatever reason.

This brings me to ask: has anyone in this community ever tracked their blood glucose after meals, and followed which foods are triggering for them? Anyone ever used a continuous monitor for this purpose? Even better, has anyone identified foods that cause a blood glucose spike & also trigger their folliculitis, and then once eliminating the food- their folliculitis improved?

South Fork Flathead MT- Packhorse assistance?

Hi Everyone!

Hoping to find an answer re: packhorses on the South Fork of the Flathead.

I've done this trip a couple of times hiking in once from Pyramid pass, and the other from Benchmark. I am going in August this year with some friends who are on the older side who would love the assistance of an outfitter with packhorses to get to the put in on Young's creek. I am wondering if anyone has any contacts or has done something similar for this trip! Would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance & happy paddling to all.

Pic for fun.

New dry/scabs on puppy nose

Hi! My puppy (5 months, 5 kg) has a new dry looking / crusty scab area on her nose this has developed over the last few days. I’m not sure what it could be from, but she does like to dig (she’s a dachsund). Looking for any advice! Thanks in advance!! Last picture is her nose pre irritation for reference.
