Is there a spot near campus to get lunch for under $12?
Every generic banh mi, standard noodle bowl, or basic sandwich around Melbourne Central or Swanston is around $18 this semester. Are there any student spots that don't charge a premium?

I thought it would just be a quicker, cheaper way to get to campus, but the planning around routes, showers and timing is a lot more than I expected. How do other students make it work daily?
I booked a study room today, turned up exactly at my time and when I looked through the glass, a bloke was sitting there fully settled in. He really messed up the place with his eatables. I knocked and showed him my booking on my phone and somehow I still got that annoyed look back like I’d just interrupted something important when he was not even studying, but was watching Netflix. I followed the process, and now I’m standing there feeling like I’m kicking someone out of their own house. Why am I the one feeling awkward here😭 and instead of saying sorry for wasting my 15 mins, he was telling me that I don't have manners and gave me a look before leaving. Like seriously??
With the job market being rough, choosing a second major feels more important than ever.
What combos actually give better employability- marketing, supply chain, HR?
I did the 30km Capital City Trail loop this morning to clear the head. It’s that time of year where the leaves are dropping and the path is a bit "slick," especially through the leafy bits of Toorak and Burnley. I was cruising past the wetlands near Alphington and a row of ducklings decided to cross the path right as I was coming around a bend. Locked the brakes and did a very ungraceful shimmy to avoid them. To the fellow rider who stopped to make sure I (and the ducks) were okay: thanks mate. Melbourne cycling is 10% fitness and 90% dodging local wildlife and rogue pedestrians, isn't it?
I saw that the RMIT Public Art Trail is still listed as a major feature of the City campus for 2026. I walk past Building 8 and Storey Hall all the time, but I’ve never actually followed the "official" trail. For those who spend time on campus, are there any hidden pieces that a local wouldn't normally notice? I’m looking for some interesting spots for a weekend photography walk and wondering if the campus "gallery" vibe is as good as the website makes it out to be.
