2004 NB threw code P0300. Where do I start when troubleshooting this?
I recently purchased an NB with 200k miles but had only driven about 200 miles the past two years. As far as I know, before 2024 all maintenance was done on time at a local dealer. After getting it home, I did an oil change and replaced spark plugs and all was well. Then a couple of weeks later I was driving on the highway in the early morning and the check engine light started flashing. I pulled over and the light went solid. After turning the car off and restarting it, I had no issues for the rest of the day. I scanned the code and it gave the P0300. I cleared the codes and about a minute into the next drive the engine started sputtering and shaking. I pulled over and restarted the car, and it ran just fine again. It gave the same code the second time as well. I checked the spark plugs and tested the battery and they both looked good. Where do I start on this without throwing parts at the wall to see what sticks?
Thanks for any advice you can give!
