Double Bass Pedal Recommendations - DW, Pearl, Long Board Syle, Speed Cobra, Etc.

Hello! I'm fairly new to drums, especially when it comes to different models, types, features, etc. I'm just upgraded my Roland TD 11 to the TD 516 (still setting it up but very excited). As I was setting it up, I deep dove into my double pedal settings, even more simpler than that, how to optimize double strokes on a single pedal.

I realized, that although it can accomplish it with my dw3000, I feel like the pedal length is not long enough so when I do the heel portion of it and then the top portion the heel portion doesn't always make a note, now admittedly, this could completely be me. I'm female so not crazy big feet but can get it easily if I rotate my foot slightly off the board.

I'm hoping to gain some recommendations you all would have for somebody who loves playing metal, not crazy fast metal like death metal or thrash metal, more metal core style along with other genres of music but I want to be able to consistently play double pedals and I have the ability to upgrade right now. I'd also love to be able to play Tool at some point so speed isn't the ultimate goal, instead versitily.

I was reading online that longboard direct drive pedals could potentially be the way to go but I also read that they are very unforgiving and maybe not great for beginners to intermediates. I also read that the dw5000s may have a better response than my 3000, and that the 9000s are top tier. But then I also read that Speed Cobras are up there along with DW9000S, Pearls, Etc. Just looking to get a idea of where to go because you all led me to the Roland 516 and know that you guys will help lead me to the right direction.

Thanks in advance!

Roland TD516, TD-27KV, or TD-50K2

I think I narrowed down my next kit to the Roland TD516, TD-27KV, or TD-50K2. The TD-50K2 was initially ruled out for it being $6.3k but I found one online (granted, don't know this company, I'll need to do some research on them first) for $5k. I don't really want to spend $5k but will if it is signficantly better. I don't see myself buying another kit for many years after whichever one I land on this go around.

I love playing but no pro by any means. This is just me having fun at my house. With that said, I want the best bang for the buck. So if it is a buy once cry once to flip for the 50K2, I would, but I also don't want to spend more just for the sake of getting the 'best', if that makes sense. Looking for the deep knowledge from the community here. Although I play a lot, I don't know hardly anything about the technicalities for kits, what makes one better than the other, etc. Thank you in advance, I am really excited to upgrade and any insight or suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

Note, I also saw some threads mentioning EFNOTE, am I shooting myself in the foot by focusing more heavily on Roland? I had AI do some reserach for me and it still recommended these 3 models but AI can only help so much.

Want to upgrade my Roland TD 11

Hello! I want to upgrade my Roland TD 11 kit but curious if upgrading everything (such as the toms for example) is worth it or if I need should really just focus on the drum module, snare, and cymbals? I think I'm going to go with the Zildjian L80 cymbals no matter what.

Speaker Recommendation/Set up

Hello! I am wondering if anyone has some speaker recommendations. I currently have a pair of bookshelf speakers I use, they are fine but can't get very loud so I mostly just hear the thumps of the edrum. Also, how do you set up listenting/playing music from your phone? I currently have the phone plugged into my drum module, then that plugged into the speaks. The issue is if I want to have headphones on and the speakers having output, the headphones are way too loud to wear but the speakers aren't loud enough. It is because the phone itself is what is dictating the volumn of the speakers in the end but to have it loud enough on the speakers, makes the headphones way too loud. Hope that makes sense!

Hello! I am wondering if anyone has a recommendation for quite cymbals, I get really distracted with the thump that comes with the standard eletronic cymbols. Thanks!

Edrum Kit/Build Recommendations

Hello!

I am looking to upgrade from my current kit, which is a Roland TD 11. If there is a kit that is great, fantastic, would love to hear about them! My guess, however, is a build is probably the way to go but that is why I am here, apprecaite any input and recommends! I don't really have a budget in mind, ideally less that $3k but would spend more if it is worth it! Just me being cheap. lol

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could share their settings both for supports (light, medium, etc.) and their Magic Support steps. I've been doing a lot of testing and trying to utilize AI to help me but not getting far. I know this isn't a one size fits all but I am looking for real world experience to get started with then do more testing from there.

I have a Elegoo Saturn 4 16k and using ABS like resin. I already have my exposure dialed in, landed on 1.7 sec, but looking to optimize supports. The goal is to minimize failures, puck marks, and ease of removal.

And before folks tell me the only way is manual supports, I know that is a better way but I want to try auto supports. I have done manual, I understand the concepts of how to do it, etc. Just looking to optimize my workflow.

Thank you in advance!
