Knock down rebuild

Not directly NBN related, but adjacent. Just looking for some guidance and questions before my electrical and networking consult.

Property currently has FTTP and as part of the tender the builder includes what they state as “basic NBN setup to dwelling (not including hills home hub)”.

In my previous residence (not this house) we had a hills hub that had Ethernet, video, audio and security ran to nearly every room in the house and was super easy to just patch into for Ethernet (I didn’t use any of the other stuff).

For this new build I plan to have Ethernet pre-run throughout the house for PoE cameras, APs and technology.

My question, do I ask to be upgraded to a hills home hub as part of my electrical consult OR what I was originally planning to do was just later install an in wall networking cabinet with switches and patch panels?

TLDR: do i need a hills home hub or will any server rack/cabinet do?

How are people affording these mortgage payments?

(This is not just a sudden realisation about how truly horrendous our housing market is, I’m genuinely curious how people have survived so long)

Married couple, no kids and currently pay $4500/m on our mortgage which is a bit over 30% of our take home pay.

Story that is becoming all too common, Boomer in-laws are at the point where they will have to live with us soon so we are looking at renovations and KDR with both attached and detached granny flats.

Given building costs at the moment, we are likely going to be around $500-600,000 for the build PLUS demo, landscaping and everything else that goes along with it. This would give us a mortgage of $1.2-1.3m but factor $1.4m to be safe. That almost doubles our mortgage repayments.

I think to myself, damn that’s a lot of money, but we both earn good money and sure we can cut back on our smashed avos and $5 lattes. But seriously, the house next door sold earlier this year for $1.35m to a young couple, one of which only works part time, and two kids under 10. How are they not crying at the dinner table every night?

Elegoo CC vs Bambu P1S vs Anycubic Kobra vs ...

Looking to upgrade from my Ender 3 V3 SE and looking for a mid level multicolour/filament enclosed Core XY and I am finding it really frustrating looking at reviews online because 95% of them are sponsored by the company they are reviewing and also aussie pricing seems to not entirely correlate to USD/Euro.

I dont want to tinker, I dont build my own PCs anymore, I just want to design a part in fusion and print in PLA, PETG, ABS simply, fast and reliability.

Everyone seems to be off Bambu after their recent policy changes and also the P1S is older and the P2S is expensive.
Anycubic Kobra S1 seems good but not entirely reliable and not foolproof.
Creality K2 is too expensive.

So I was pretty set on the Elegoo but trying to decide whether to go with a CC1 + canvas or fork out the extra fr the CC2. Looking at reviews from the USA the price difference is close to $50usd so its a no brainer. But here in Australia its close to $250 difference although the Canvas doesnt seem available yet here anyway.

Is there something I'm overlooking? Any advice? Any thoughts?

(Budget under $1000 preferably $600-800)
