Type 44 or Type 38

I bought this today and it was labeled as a Type 38. I tried finding stuff out about it and saw that it's marked "Type 44". But it doesn't look like a Type 44.

Does anyone have any information on why a Type 38 is stamped 44? Or any information or quirks on the gun that you can see? This is my first gun and I bought it spur of the moment so I'd love to learn about it

Bubbles and Steam

I ran down to the dump to drop some stuff off and it was a hot day (103°F). When I was coming home the AC stopped being as cold and smelling bad (Like Ebrake or burning rubber?). But my temperature gauge said it was still running at a good temp. When I got home I could hear the bubbling from the cab so I went to check it out. Coolant was steaming and spraying out the cap and I could hear bubbling through the radiator. I had someone who was going to buy it but I had to text him and say the sale was off unless I could figure out what was wrong. Any idea what it could be?
