[Buying] [US] Japanese Kitchen Knife (~$150) for a Wedding Gift

I'm looking for the best value Japanese kitchen knife I can get for around $150 as a wedding gift for a couple that loves to cook. Buying used to maximize value, so I'm hoping to find something that punches above its price point.

The Tojiro Reppu series is probably my favorite option so far, but I'm not sure if it touches 150 used at this time.

Looking for something that is:

  • Easy to maintain (stainless or low-maintenance preferred)
  • Suitable for first-time Japanese knife owners
  • Like-new or excellent condition
  • Original box/packaging preferred (or nice replacement packaging)
  • Not too big, ideally a bunka of some sort.

I'm not set on any particular knife shape or maker, just looking for the most impressive knife I can get in this budget. If you have something that fits, I'd love to see photos and your asking price. Thanks!

Is this an ideal knife for a wedding present? Please share ideas!

I’m trying to find the optimal knife for a wedding present, thinking about value, perceived value, and just overall coolness. The young couple loves cooking. I think they’d appreciate a nice knife and cutting board combo, so that’s the gift I’ve settled on. The question is which knife.
They occasionally cook meat, and I’m leaning toward a nakiri since it’s a fun, slightly novel shape that could be a good intro to nicer knives. I bought the same one for my parents a year ago and it’s held up well even though they’re not gentle with it.

That said, I’m open to spending more or buying used from the buy/sell/trade subreddit if that gets me something better. Would love any suggestions for the optimal knife (or just something really cool) for this kind of gift.

Pristine 2018 LC single owner 28k miles no accidents what’s it worth?

What are these 2018 LCs worth? Found one that is pristine, still smells new no red flags. Atomic Silver on Black with Performance Package. Mileage is very low and has solid service history, owner was on top of everything. But curious to see what these 2018s are worth in this market. Thanks!

[USA-NC] [H] PayPal [W] Macbook Pro m3/m3/m5 pro with 32gb+ RAM 16 in Silver (damage ok)

Hi! Looking to pick up a functional Macbook Pro with at least 32gb of RAM and an m3/4/5 chip. Ideally a silver 16 inch, but I mostly use it docked. I do not mind LCD or physical damage as long as the computer is functional. Willing to meet locally (Raleigh) or do PayPal. I got my last 2 macbooks from here, have significant trade history across other bst subs. Thanks!

Getting back into drones after almost 10 years — what’s the best value used drone in 2026?

The last drone I bought was a DJI Phantom 4 back in 2016. I spent around $1,300 on it, flew it a handful of times, and then basically never touched it again. I still kind of feel the sting from that purchase lol.

That said, I do want to get back into drones now — but this time I want to be smarter about it financially. Under $600

I’m specifically looking for:

- Good resale value if I decide to sell it again in 6–12 months
- Not ultra beginner/basic, but also not trying to spend a fortune
- Decent camera quality (I’m a photography enthusiast)
- Ideally 360° obstacle avoidance/detection

Basically I want the minimum modern features that actually matter in 2026 without overspending.

What models should I be looking at on the used market right now? And what should I expect to pay?

Curious what you all would buy in my position. Thanks!
