[Buying] [US] Japanese Kitchen Knife (~$150) for a Wedding Gift
I'm looking for the best value Japanese kitchen knife I can get for around $150 as a wedding gift for a couple that loves to cook. Buying used to maximize value, so I'm hoping to find something that punches above its price point.
The Tojiro Reppu series is probably my favorite option so far, but I'm not sure if it touches 150 used at this time.
Looking for something that is:
- Easy to maintain (stainless or low-maintenance preferred)
- Suitable for first-time Japanese knife owners
- Like-new or excellent condition
- Original box/packaging preferred (or nice replacement packaging)
- Not too big, ideally a bunka of some sort.
I'm not set on any particular knife shape or maker, just looking for the most impressive knife I can get in this budget. If you have something that fits, I'd love to see photos and your asking price. Thanks!
