Japan - Last Minute Sale Advice Needed

Good evening, I know time is running out on the big sale, I’ve been shopping all week and am making my final cart selections now.

I’m especially keen to find some good background reading for my trip to Japan next Fall, but haven’t found anything really captivating yet. I’m interested in all aspects, from basic history, art, and architecture to culture from samurai to anime. Beginner language learning too, if there’s a highly suggested option.

Hirohito and the Making of Modern Japan is pretty interesting at just $4, but hoping for more options since I have just over a year to do a deep dive.

Newbie Here - Inversions Optional??

I recently heard about this series and I’m ready to jump in—except that I see one of the nine books is NOT available for Kindle.

I read the pinned post that said Inversions is very unlike the rest of the series, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to skip it entirely and read the others.

If not, do you think it will ever be released on Kindle, specifically in English? (I see it’s currently available in Spanish and German, but my language skills are definitely not up to the challenge of reading a full novel.)

Thanks everyone for your help. If it’s possible to skip book 5 and still fully enjoy the series I would like to grab books 7-9 while they are on sale for $2 each and then collect the rest of them as my budget allows.

HP Bucket Availability

I’m new to this sub, though I’ve been collecting Disney popcorn buckets for a while.

I’m really interested in the Harry Potter 25th anniversary buckets but I’m very confused. Cinemark social posts say available NOW—do they mean the buckets are available for purchase now in the theaters, or that tickets for the anniversary showings in late August are available now?

I really don’t want to purchase tickets for August 28th only to find out that all the merch sold out several weeks before the movie showings.

I would also appreciate info on where to find the square Ravenclaw bucket. That design is the most appealing to me, but it’s already sold out at Swan Drive In and I can’t find any information on which chain will have that one.

64 Cents Short

Trying to take advantage of the “spend $40 get $10” offer and have curated the perfect basket of audiobooks—but sadly I’m coming up 64 cents short of the required $40 spend.

- Licanius Trilogy
- Six of Crows Duology
- The Heroes and Wisdom of Crowds by Abercrombie
- Goblin Gigs (random choice, but love the preview)

Does Audible track what you’ve spent on the promo so you can earn the $10 when you reach the threshold, or do I need to do it all in one purchase?

Alternatively, does anyone have any random CHEAP suggestions for me? I generally prefer fantasy, science fiction and space opera, but I’m always down for a good history (especially military or ancient) or other nonfiction title.

I’ve searched and searched, but everything else I want is expensive enough that I’ll save it until I have a credit to burn. I don’t want to spend $8 to earn a $10 promo, but happy to spend $2 or $3 on something different, especially if it broadens my horizons.

PS NOT interested in spice/smut or virtual voice.

Understanding all the Sales

I want to take advantage of all the current offers, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to do it, and in what order:
- spend 3 credits get 1 credit free
- spend $40 get a $10 reward
- 2 books for 1 credit
- $5 coupon from member rewards

I have two credits available. I was planning to wait until I get my next credit on the 26th to use them all at once and then use the free credit to finish collecting all of the Expanse series.

The 2 for 1 sale expires before that, but I’m not clear on whether using that offer will somehow disqualify me from the spend 3 credits get 1 free offer, since it says sales can’t be combined.

What would be the best order for doing things? My current plan is to do the 2 for 1 with one of my existing credits, and use the other to buy one more book. If I’m lucky that 2 for 1 credit will count towards the “use 3 get 1” offer and all is good.

Does anyone know if purchased (extra) credits will work for the “use 3 get 1” or does it work only with the regular monthly credits?

Les Misérables

Come on guys! This is a professionally produced Penguin edition, who do I contact to get the title fixed?

I’m a relatively new Audible addict, and don’t know if they have separate customer service and tech support folks. Chat hasn’t been helpful.
