So, the moment that I installed the game, I began attaching the default subhoods to every neighborhood and foolishly I gave each of them all three university hoods. Because of this, whenever I send a teen sim to college, no matter which uni I play in, the dorms get taken over by the same sim state dormies each time and whenever I get my sims to travel to a uni community lot, I recognize the same sims roaming around and it’s making me wonder if the dormies from La Fiesta and Academie Le Tour even made it in my game, or if they failed to generate because Sim State happened to be the first uni I added in each neighborhood everytime?

I’m asking this because I know that when it comes to Nightlife, only sims from the first downtown you attach get added to the game and I’m wondering if the same applies to the uni hood? Like, the playable sims do exist, and so do the ‘family bin’ (or whatever the YA version is called) one are, I just don’t see the dormies around.

The family bin thing happened first. I had just downloaded the game at the time (so no mods were included) and the Dreamer family was the second one I played this day. Dirk went to school and when he came back, he brought a kid named Gavin Newson with him. At the time, I didn’t think much of it except “Lol the Californian governor is in the game” but months later, when I was deciding which neighborhoods to move each premade family bin in, the Newson family came to my attention. I looked up its members, noticed that Gavin is one of them and immediately went to check Dirk’s relationships tab and was shocked to realize it was the same sim because from I’ve heard, without mods, you can’t even contact family bin sims through the phone so I had no idea how this was even possible.

The second thing happened two days ago with a family that I’d just created. One of my teenagers brought a kid named Gordon Nott home from school. Today, I got curious about that Gordon Nott kid so I looked him up and was once again surprised when I found out he was a vacation local. I didn’t know how this was possible either because if a sims tries to invite a vacation local over at their home, the phone says they’ll take 3 days to get there so the idea that Gordon went to the same school as my teen sim did felt so comical to me.

So, like, is that normal? Has anyone had these instances happen to them or is it just my game? 😭

Whenever my sims have guests over and I have them prepare a group meal for them, for some reason whenever I try to call the guests to eat through that interaction, it fails and nothing happens. ‘Call to Meal’>’Everyone’ works just fine so when that issue happens, I just go with that but the problem is that this option isn’t visible in single-sim households so I end up having to make guests selectable to get them to eat instead.

I was wondering if this is a common problem or if it is just me? And if it’s something many people have faced before, is there a way to fix it?
