Hello everyone! I'm building NeoTS2, a new 64-bit engine for The Sims 2 that runs the game from your own install's original files (no EA files included, so you need your own copy). The goal is the game you know on modern PCs, without the old memory limits, and open to deeper mods.

It's early and not playable yet, but you can already browse your neighborhoods, enter lots and see your Sims in their own outfits.

A few weeks ago, I was looking for a mod that did this and even asked about it on this sub, but unfortunately, I didn't get the answers I was looking for. Nobody seemed to know of a mod that did this, and apparently, one didn't even exist.

So I took matters into my own hands and made my own mod! A lot of people showed interest in something like this in my previous post, and apparently, people have been wanting a mod like this since 2010. So here it is! I hope you enjoy it!

I've always loved the lil' attic with the easel in the Goth Mansion... so I made an edit of it! I can imagine Bella and Mortimer gifting her the easel. Then Cassandra growing up and making it her studio. She'd paint her mom's face from memory until she can't remember anymore :'(

For a long time, I considered Alexander Goth to be one of the least interesting Sims in Pleasantview. After all, he's this kid who's supposed to become a Knowledge Sim and all that. Well, that's one interpretation. However, if you dig a little deeper, it turns out that Sim memories, as well as the Goth family album, suggest that he was supposed to be born around the same time as the Pleasant twins, if not earlier. If he's a peer of Angela, Lilith, Dustin, and Dirk rather than Lucy or (to a lesser extent) Beau, this changes his social dynamics, of course. He also has a hidden Fortune token, not Knowledge, which may hint that this is what the game developers intended.

So, my headcanon of him is that, at the start of the game, he's about the same age as Angela, Lilith, Dustin, and Dirk. He's also a Fortune Sim, with Knowledge as his secondary aspiration. Cassandra is perfectly content with having a family and doesn't really care about the Goth legacy, so Alexander is the one who feels obligated to continue it (though Mortimer doesn't pressure him to do so). His Fortune aspiration reflects his desire to excel in his chosen field (which could be some scientific endeavour), because that's what a Goth should do, not necessarily because he's obsessed with earning and having money.

Just one last picture for the night! My ongoing storyline accidentally created the perfect first date for these two idiots. I have a mod to fix issues related to ghosts not appearing on community lots but not a single one appeared on that night. Teenage hormones repel them I guess?

Just what im getting tonight 🧀

Autumn is my favorite season and I love setting up and taking seasonal pictures of my game. 3 of the areas in my hood have all 4 seasons with 1 having two springs, a fall and winter where it's more north and rainy. Then 2 subhoods are three summers and a spring (dry/hot and wet/mild).

What kind of season set ups do you do and does it vary?

For context: This is a combo Pleasantview-Strangetown that I started with all the ancestors. The elder and adult playables were created in CAS with correct genetics and started out as toddlers, children, or teens (with the exception of Cassandra, who was born in game). As a result, things have not gone according to canon. This hood was not hard to make, just time-consuming, and required some downloads plus at least one mod (I used the Sim Blender).

Goth: As head of the oldest and richest family in Pleasantview, Gunther Goth served as mayor until his death. His son Mortimer was all set to marry Bella Bachelor, as planned by both families, when Olive Muenda strolled into their wedding party and kissed up Mortmer's arm. This caused Mortimer to immediately break up with Bella and marry Olive in his place. They have started the very successful Goth Laboratories together, but Olive is secretly considering moving back to Strangetown.

Bachelor: After getting dumped by Mortimer, Bella immediately had a rebound fling with Nicolo Lothario in the photobooth, and Cassandra was the result. She didn't continue that relationship but did make sure that Cassandra knew both her father and her half-brother, Don. Bella dated a lot of men while pursuing her artistic ambitions, but she fell for sophisticated, older Xanthos Salamis from Strangetown, and they married and had a son.

Landgraab: Malcolm came to Pleasantview with two goals--start a successful business and find a wife--and he has achieved both. He is CEO of his company and is grooming his heir, Malcolm II, to take over when he is of age. Malcolm's wife Glabe is sister to Glarn Curious and an avid socialite. Malcolm does find time in his busy schedule for the occasional affair. He is currently also in love with Nina Caliente.

Pleasant: Daniel's first love was Michael Bachelor (who still hasn't gotten over him but has since moved to Strangetown), but his ambition was to start Pleasantview's first professional soccer team. He thought Mary-Sue Oldie would be a great partner for him in that endeavor. Mary-Sue, for her part, wants to be mayor and also thought the marriage would help her achieve her career goals. It is a marriage based on convenience more than love, although they do respect each other. They have just had twins: much-adored Angelo and much-neglected Lilith. Daniel's sister Jennifer had to move in after her recent break-up.

Burb: John and Jennifer had been together since they were teens; in college she accidentally got pregnant. She went back to Pleasantview to wait for John, and they planned to get married. Everything was perfect until John slept with some dormie at Don's graduation party and ruined it all. Jennifer left him to raise their son Kevin on his own.

Oldie: Mary-Sue is adopted, but she is the biological daughter of Herb from a fling he had on a business trip. Coral should have known better then, but eventually she found out about Herb's cheating ways and kicked him to the curb. She has found a much better partner in Gabe, and despite their advanced ages, they wanted a child, so they adopted Amy.

Dreamer: Darren is a very talented artist who thinks he can make it to visionary status. He started dating Darleen Matlapin as teens, and they got engaged in college. But he became obsessed with this dormie, Sarah (the same one John ruined his life for). He couldn't keep away, and Darleen found out while she was pregnant. She left Darren with their son Dirk and moved back in with her family, heartbroken.

Broke-Lothario-Caliente: Skip and Nina dated as teens, but in college, she and Don quickly got together. She got pregnant about halfway through and had to drop out. Skip didn't go to college, so Nina and Skip decided to share a place. When Don graduated, he moved in with them, and they became a throuple--although Skip and Don seem the most in love. Nina is still very hung up on Daniel Pleasant and has taken a few other lovers as well. Don and Skip also do most of the childcare. And where's Brandi? She is still single and roommates with Ajay Loner and Erin Beaker, living in a "singles" household. She and Skip never had any chemistry whatsoever.

Caliente-Curious: Another long-time couple, Dina and Lazlo got married right after college, moved to Strangetown, and had their son, Elvis. They have a chill, semi-open relationship--Lazlo has been kinda seeing Brandi Newbie, and Dina has gotten very close to her next-door neighbor, Michael Bachelor. They are very happy together, though, and are considering moving to Pleasantview for Dina's journalism career.

I'm playing a rotation game in Pleasantview and I'm on the Oresha-Hoh-Var Fraternity. The most interesting character in this playthrough is Mickey Dosser, who is currently dating Heather Huffington but has his eyes on Jessie Pilferson...

I'm really excited to be back playing TS2, I originally played this game on my desktop but long story short i had to stop, but things are fixed now and I get to play again!
