Before anyone judges me: yes, I know how this sounds :D

It’s for a BACC save where I’m trying to follow a very specific family tree.
I’m playing The Sims 2 (all expansion packs, original CDs) and I’m trying to get two first cousins (actually double first cousins because two siblings from one family married two siblings from another family) to have a romantic relationship and eventually get married.

I already installed midgethetree_cousinsnotflaggedfamily.package in my Downloads folder, custom content is enabled and the game has been restarted. The mod seems to load but the two Sims still don’t have any romantic interactions available. They’re both currently Young Adults at college.
I do have a few other mods installed, but no ACR, InTeen, or other romance-related mods that I’m aware of.

Has anyone successfully used this mod with double first cousins? Does the mod not support that relationship or could another mod be overriding it?
Would using SimPE to remove their family flag be the easiest solution or is there something else I should try first?

Any advice would be appreciated! 💚

I'm going to (hopefully) start an Uberhood today or tomorrow and do a rotational play changing every season. Does anyone have any suggestions? It seems like it is going to take forever with all the families I'll be playing 😅

So this was a random thought I had after going through totally legal, totally unquestionable means to obtain the ultimate collection instead of the legacy collection.

Enjoying everything I love about the game. Playing my fave hoods. Building a hood from scratch and then the thought came to my head.

How do we keep this game alive?

Specifically this version of the game, because it goes without saying the legacy version has let us down in bringing a version of the game that didnt need patches and graphics rules makers and rpc's to get it to run on modern hardware. Because they somehow made a less enjoyable version in the process of making that game.

They also showed they wont hesitate to scrub everything they can find of anything pre legacy collection from the internet and make it harder to get the version of the game we want.

Add to the fact that modern hardware will only get better as time goes forward. I wonder if a time comes where the steps needed to get this thing to run becomes more trouble than it is worth and it becomes legacy edition or bust...and seeing how EA will do EA things. I think we can all envision a future where legacy edition gets abandoned as well.

Now this is not a future we necessarily need to worry about with any immediacy. But I think it is one we need to discuss. This community has already done incredible things to keep this game alive. Overcoming advancements in hardware. Bugs in the original release. And the greed and lack of care from a company that only cares how much money they can squeeze out of you.

The very reason the legacy edition was released was because this community refused to let TS2 die.

If you would have told me back when this game was released it would have the community it does today. I would struggle to believe you. Because thats just the nature of these things. I would jave predicted this thing being abandonware a lot sooner than it was. Which shows the quality this game has over all the others in its franchise if you ask me. I dont find myself asking "man how do we keep TS3/4 alive when they eventually get hauled overship and left at sea"

But i do with this one. And while I will continue having backups to ensure I have the capabilities to install the game on modern hardware. I imagine. Eventually. That method will stop working.

I have downloaded a bunch of cc modular stairs but they just don't show up in game, I've seen people mention that you need to edit some of the game files but haven't seen any clear instructions on what I actually need to do. Any help would be much appreciated as the maxis modular stairs are not a vibe haha

So I just found out about the whole uberhood thing. I know I’m a bit late on it. But I discovered it after finding out I couldn’t move my sim from one neighborhood to another. Thankfully the uberhood can do that.

Anyway, my question is regarding using custom neighborhoods. Can I import my custom neighborhood with all the sims and their memories, data etc?? I would love to continue where I left off but within an uberhood so I can freely explore and move sims throughout different hoods. Thanks in advance!!

So, here's the thing. I was playing with Ichabod Specter, when something werid happened, I put him to play chess, to get a point of logic. The popup of your sim got one point of logic was showed, but I his logic bar didn't encreased.

Can you tell me if I should panic or just chill?

By the way, I changed his life state to adult, would that be the cause of this?

A couple of days ago, I posted some unusual pairings in my current megahood and got a lot of great comments from you all. I took some of those into account, and also the game did things, and I've had several breakups in my last couple of play sessions:

• Ophelia Nigmos broke up with Romeo Monty for cheating. She found out the inevitable before they got married but not before she got pregnant. She's moved back to Strangetown and would like to get back with Johnny.
• Johnny Smith broke up with Erin Beaker because neither one wants to be tied down right now. Johnny's career has been going great. He arrested Loki Beaker for his crimes and is now the SWAT Team Leader. Will he want to get back with Ophelia? I don't know.
• Dustin Broke broke up with Lilith Pleasant because she wanted a more committed relationship than he did. In fact, he is currently sleeping with Erin. He moved back Downtown to work on his Criminal career. His former partner, Gordon King, was killed by the police or something, and Dustin is also seeing Gordon's former girlfriend (a townie I made).
• Bella Goth broke up with Darren Dreamer and kicked him out of the Goth Manor because she has found a new young artist to "sponsor"--which is Romeo Monty. Bella was the one Romeo was caught cheating with.

Darren was also seeing Kaylynn during this time, and I think of Kaylynn as being unusually fertile, so she has gotten pregnant by him. (She previously had Daniel's child.) So Darren has now moved in with her, but he does not want to get married because Darren in my game is a total loser (sorry to all the Darren lovers).

Also, Tank proposed to Puck! He rolled the want, finally. He popped the question at the Monty restaurant, and then Puck got him pregnant in the photobooth. Tank quit the military and moved Downtown with Puck so Puck could follow his ambitions to be in show business. Tank is now working in Law Enforcement, which I guess is not that much different from the military.

Young people: Buck Grunt did not go to college but moved on his own to Pleasantview. Lucy Burb did not go to college but moved Downtown. Tybalt Capp married Tom Freshe from Academie La Tour and is set to inherit Capp Manor, since Juliette and Hermia are estranged from the family. Alexander Goth is at Academie La Tour and dating Beatrice Monty. Hal Capp is dating Ellen Frost. Benedick Monty is at La Fiesta Tech and dating Blossom Moonbeam.
