Going to Japan for a exchange program, what should I know before hand

I'm going to Japan in august for a 4 months cultural exchange. I don't come from a financially off family. The program is fully funded but the visa cost is ours to bear and that's already a strain on My parents. Flights, transport, meals are covered and I have a stripend of 5k yen per month.

What are some things I should know beforehand and how should I spend my stripend. I won't be able to bring much of my own money because we simply don't have the money to afford that.

Proud of my journey

This one is gonna be a short one lol.

So guys I'm not sucidal anymore yayyyyy. Idk how it happened but I sorta woke up one day and wanted to live. That was a few months ago. I can't even imagine kms now. I'm genuinely happy with the progress I made. Yes I still have my flaws and struggles but I feel so proud of myself. I don't self harm anymore, I have mostly accepted my scars and even wear short sleeves now. I'm cutting down nicotine slowly, this has honestly been the hardest thing for me. Been trying to quit for over a year. Made some progress tho, went from cigarettes to a vape and now to pouches, and even on the pouches I cut it down to 2 a day.

Yeah that's all I gotta say folks and turns out there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Things do get better somehow someway. I didn't know or believe they could but they did.
