Washing air cast pad

Has anyone washed the removal pad in their air cast? Mine is starting to smell after 5 1/2 weeks. I'm just wondering how long it takes to air dry. I read not to put it in the dryer because it can shrink. Any tips on odor control greatly appreciated. I have another almost 5 weeks left.

Make me scream or hide behind the pillow

So what I'm looking for is really good horror that will make me jump, scream and hide behind my pillow. Lol. Like creatures or monsters that you Don't see but you know they're there and they jump out and get you. Something to make me have nightmares! (Although I have nightmares every night regardless.)

(Rec) Is one that does that to me for example.

The list I've seen on here for a movie suggestions have been great. I've put a lot of them down in my to watch list.

Scar numbness

I had surgery a month ago for triple break. Is it normal for the incision site to still be numb to the touch? Unless I bump it, then it hurts like a mo-fo! The incisions are 99% healed. I've never had a major surgery so don't know if it's normal?

How long did it take for your surgery would to close? I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and got staples out a week ago and steri strips put on. I'm just wondering how long before it starts to heal, as the wounds are still pretty open at this point.

My first cry

I woke up a few minutes ago (1 am) and was just feeling uncomfortable in my boot. I lost it and started crying, for about 5 minutes. I haven't gone the grieving my freedom yet (3 1/2 weeks post surgery on a tri fracture) and I guess it just hit me dammit.

I have 10 total nwb because I tore a ligament too. The loneliness is getting to me as I live alone. thankfully my parents are only 7 miles away and come by every other day for an hour or so to help with chores. But that still leaves a ton of alone time which I've never been good with.

I can't leave my apartment due to stairs outside. I have to have the fire department come and help me with a special stair wheelchair when I have doctor's appointments.

This sucks. They don't prepare you for this in the hospital LOL.

This group has been a great help though and giving me a lot of Hope for when I'm back on my feet. It just seems like it will be so long until that happens.

I got my Staples out today and I had almost 50 Staples in total on both sides! I didn't realize there was that many. I've been cleared to wash my leg finally woohoo.

I have a plastic bath chair in my tub but I'm almost afraid to try and get in it because I don't have a non-slip mat right now. It's not one that leans over the edge of the tub that you can slide into. I would just have to get into the bathtub and sit down on it and wash from there.

Any tips for easing my anxiety of taking a first (seated) shower or just getting in and running water and washing that way?
